Toxic.
Sports (and the people who watch them) are pretty toxic to civilization, yeah.

SoCal Regionals are beginning now, if anyone cares: https://www.twitch.tv/capcomfighters

Winner's:
Haitani vs. K-Brad
Mago vs. Xiao Hai

Loser's:
PR Balrog vs. NuckleDu
Nuki vs. Xyzzy

PR Balrog is my favorite player so I hope he wins. Realistically, it'll be either Nuki, Haitani, or Xiao Hai. Maybe Mago.

so, how long do you think until the game gets that one update

the one that changes the game completely and forever, dividing the fanbase in half, alienating old fans yearning for "the good old overwatch" and spitting venom at any new player who has anything positive to say about the new metagame

Doesn't SF5 have crossplay?
It does, but then you don't have the convenience of PSN messaging. But I guess it's no big deal.

Magneto's retarded-ass design has always turned me away from him.
The purple?

I get that. The writers made a character the artists failed
The red, the purple, the helmet, the cape, the outfit, the concept, the name, the everything. I just can't take him seriously.

Yoo, how long do you think it would take to get used to the movement and stuff? Trying to pick it up rn but I do better when I mash buttons compared to deliberate inputs at the moment.

Side note: This game is sick
Yay, I've been waiting for someone to pick this up :D

Is this your first SF game? If so, it might take a while to get used to how the game works. There's a number of things to talk about, all of which can be accessed in the Demonstrations menu, if you haven't found that yet. Definitely watch those demonstrations--not only will you learn some esoteric shit, you'll also get a little bit of Fight Money for it, which you can use to buy nifty things like characters and colors.

Personally, I suggest starting out with Ryu, and then do the following: Go to Training mode, pause, and turn on the button display option. This will have the game tell you what buttons you're pressing. Then, start moving around with Ryu a little bit--without attacking. Practice moving back and forth, back and forth, and start getting a feel for Ryu's movement speed in both of his stepping directions. Keep an eye on your button display, too. If you see anything other than this:

<

...then you know you need to keep your movements a little bit more fluid. You don't wanna be accidentally crouching or jumping during a fight. The reason we practice with Ryu first is because he's the OG. He's the character everyone else is sort of built around, and he has average stats all across the board (though, at high level play, he's considered top 5--but you don't have to worry about that right now).

Then start jumping--backwards, neutral, forwards. Be sure to get a feel not only for the distance covered by each jump, but the time it takes for Ryu to land, as well. A common mistake beginners make is to jump too much, but just like in Smash, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage when in midair, because every character in the game has at least two or three ways to deal with jump-ins. The best time to jump are when you have an opening, or when your jump out-ranges your opponent's anti-air. Also, "safe jumps"--when you jump towards your opponent and just barely land outside of their anti-air range--which serves as a good bait, because you're safe to block right after. Hence "safe" jump.

After you get movements and jumping down, the next best thing to learn are all of Ryu's normals. Start playing around with his light, medium, and heavy punches/kicks. Note their range, speed, and power. There's no need to worry about combos right now--it's more important for you to understand each of your characters tools and how to use them effectively. For example, Ryu's standing medium kick (s.mk) is a solid poke because of its range and speed. Ryu's normals have low range in general, and I don't see people using s.mk a lot in the neutral. It's kind of an underrated move. I like to use it as the final hit in a blockstring--and I'll usually catch someone with it.

Then learn Ryu's special moves--Hadoken (fireball), Shoryuken (dragon punch or DP), and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku (tatsu or hurricane kick). Note that using a different button strength for each move produces a different result. A light fireball will produce a slow projectile; a hard fireball will produce a faster one. Make sure you can mentally separate a Hadoken's motion (down, down-forward, forward + any punch, in a quick smooth motion) from a Shoryuken's motion (forward, down, down-forward + any punch, in a quick smooth motion). IMO, make sure you can do ten Hadokens in a row without messing up, and then 10 Shoryukens in a row without messing up. That way, you'll have a basic grasp on how to perform special moves consistently.

Special moves are often the #1 thing beginners have trouble with. It can be a little daunting. I'll stop talking here, in case you're totally lost--I don't wanna overwhelm you with information. :P If you have any questions, please feel free. I'm super glad you picked up the game and are enjoying it--that's a good sign already.

Too many trailers. Just once I think it would be really cool to make everyone go in blind. I've started doing it artificially with movies but it isn't the same.
I went in totally blind for Gen VI. It wasn't really worth it.

I mean, I loved the games, but I don't think going in blind really enhanced my experience at all.

So does Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn, what's your point?

Outliers are so named for a reason.
I thought Bernie Sanders wasn't a socialist.
