Not insecure at all. I just find it hilarious that every single debate I get into, someone has to bring up my intellect. It's funny when I've accomplished more than everyone here except maybe 2 or 3 people. That's not me gloating, it's just a fact.

The point I'm trying to get across is that you really don't have a leg to stand on when you go and vote for X party that you know isn't going to win, then proceed to throw a conniption fit when Y party you didn't vote for ends up losing to Z party you didn't vote for. This is especially true for those who live in swing states.
This really doesn't stand to reason, though. I'm allowed to be upset that enough people voted for Trump for him to win--and who I vote for is completely irrelevant. The fact is, voting for Hillary wouldn't have taken away any of Trump's votes. If Trump lost, I would have been just as livid that he even made it so far.

The presidency is a elected via a republic. Congress is elected democratically, and the overwhelming democratic vote was for a Republican government for the next two years.
The Electoral Collage was a mistake.
It's actually quite a nice system. Federalist pigs complain about it not matching the popular vote at times, but when you look at how the president is selected by the states themselves, and not the nation as a whole, as we are supposed to be a unit of stronger states tied together for convenience by a restricted federal government, with an emphasis on state individuality, it makes perfect sense.
All it means is we need to find a way for each state to maintain equilibrium in population somehow. That's the only way a fair election can take place. The most populous states dictating elections is a misconception. They would skew the results to a certain degree, but California, Texas, New York, etc. would not "dictate" how elections go at all. Personally, I would argue that the skew is small enough to where it really wouldn't matter if we went by popular vote.
