It's so disheartening how some people can go from ardently anti-Trump to full-blown Trump apologist over a few days.

Hey guys I respect the military but let me take a moment to inappropriately shoehorn my personal political opinion into this thread.
Nothing is inappropriate about that.

Trolling?

God, no. I'm shitposting.

There's world of difference

Because, while I'm doing it to piss people off, it's not like I disagree with what I'm saying
that's not really what shitposting is either

just instigating

Mr. Trump said he favors keeping the prohibition against insurers denying coverage because of patients’ existing conditions, and a provision that allows parents to provide years of additional coverage for children on their insurance policies
It's already habbening, folks.

I think what you're trying to say is that having a "with me or against me" mentality is bad.

I don't agree. Sometimes, it's a necessary mentality to have.
I think it's a cancer. The notion that you have to 100% believe what someone else believes or you're the devil is a shitty placeholder to be at. It's basically saying moderates are the devil, and you can't feel a bit of middle ground on it. It's exactly what polarizes everyone.
If someone has an extreme position, yet they know or a fact that they're right, why would they ever want to associate with anyone who's just going to slow them down?

Sometimes, yes, but compromise is the definition of politics.
That's why it's not really a political issue for me.

Whether or not you support Trump is not a political discussion--it's a litmus test.

If I was nihilistic about this, it would mean that I would not care, nor would I post it to begin with.
You also wouldn't do anything because it's physically impossible to go full nihilist. The bottom line is that you're still an attention-craving human being just like everybody else, and because you're an angsty twenty-something on the Internet, you still have some nihilistic tendencies. Like saying climate change doesn't matter because the world is fucked anyway. Call it "pessimistic defeatism" or whatever you want--I'll call it what it is.

No, my argument is "we've already completely destroyed it
Then you're just factually wrong.

Not insecure at all. I just find it hilarious that every single debate I get into, someone has to bring up my intellect. It's funny when I've accomplished more than everyone here except maybe 2 or 3 people. That's not me gloating, it's just a fact.

People bringing up my intellect can't even work a proper job, get a degree, or move out of their parents homes. Makes no sense to me.
Mostly because these things have nothing to do with having a good intellect.
This wording is suspect.
What?

You're not intelligent just because you have a job, a degree, or a home.

the moment you suddenly use Godwins law is when you suddenly lose credibility.
Why?

That kind of mentality, where if you don't agree 100% with them then YOU'RE also wrong, is a cancer, and only makes you part of the problem. The sad fact is you're just as intolerant and narrow minded as the people you loathe, only on the other end of the spectrum. But you're right. Of course you're right, you know what it takes and have the answers. That's the exact same mindset the other side has as well.
This just seems like ad hominem.

Just because you personally find that mindset narrow-minded doesn't mean it's not right. You have to prove with facts that social issues aren't that important, if that's what you believe.

The most enjoyment I got out of Skyrim was when I accidentally pilfered one (1) pancake off a table in Whiterun.

Next thing I know, I'm the most wanted fucking person in Tamriel, with bounty hunters chasing me all over the place and shit.

By "one of them" I mean the feminized, submissive, mentally-ill males that are nothing short of an epidemic in today's society.

I have nothing but respect and gratitude for those people who sign up to die, who are willing to fall on their sword, for doing what they think is right.

Lets not pretend that the government uses the military for anything just, though. Its not about "defending the mainland from foreign threats", its about guarding our economic interests overseas.

UGH GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
This is a veterans day thread, and you made it about the military.

Veterans are some of the best and most honorable people in the country, theyre the equivalent of knights or duelists - being willing to die for what they believe in.

The military as a whole misuses that patriotism and loyalty, and shouldnt be cherished whatsoever.
So you're saying we should respect the soldier who goes out there to fight but not the governmental institution that misuses the soldiers' patriotism, right?
Is that even a question? Of course that's what he's saying.

Man, I don't think people this year understood what democracy or voting means.

I mean yeah, the results for the election and Brexit sucked, but you can't just keep rolling on petitions for more votes until you get what you want.
1st amendment says they can, actually.

What you mean to say is that it won't do anything, but who cares? Let people be livid. Let people be unsatisfied.

12450
Signed.

I know it won't do anything, but WOW do I love letting people know how much I hate Trump.
