That's MW2, but now you mention that I totally forgot about Shipment. I remember going 120 and 30 on that map once and I unlocked like 6 attachments for different guns.

stats is easy but boring.
linear algebra is interesting.
calc III is useful.

what is your major? what industry do you want to go into?
I'm CS. Not quite sure what I want to do yet.

I'm not sure how your CS program is structured. Based on mine [I just finished second year CS], I think that Stats and Lin Alg will have more immediate influences. Stats was invaluable for algorithm analysis/complexity and is the backbone for any sort of AI oriented course. Lin Alg was just expected to be basic knowledge for everyone and used liberally throughout algorithm design questions as well.

Multivariable Calc though didn't really come into play for CS this year. It did pop up in some practice problems but they were usually super basic integrals, which don't take very long to learn on their own.

Spoiler
Also I should note that a bit of Multivariable Calc required Lin Alg knowledge as well. Not a lot, but hey, just putting it out there

I've walked past anime club gatherings at our school. They look like zombie communions from the outside. Like, if you combined the will to live of every attendee there it couldn't rival the total at a cemetery.

If that's the kind of thing you mean by "obsession" then I don't think any intelligent being would find that hot. Except the 30+ people surely boiling inside of that room of course.

I think it'll be better than BvS for sure, if only because literally everyone is going to be at Snyder's throat the entire time.

Still, unless they Crisis the sh1t out of the timeline I don't think they can unfk Superman's lore. As cool as the thought of silver bullet King of Knights Supes sounds, the damage has already been done to him.

Stats > Lin Alg > Calc

Introductory stats is super fun and easy IMO. It's super easy to get sucked into the material.

Lin Alg is really dry but it's pretty easy. The proofs are cute.

Calc III, assuming it translates into general multivariate calc, is more difficult than the other two. It's fairly interesting, but also fairly time consuming.

Hopefully not. Bayona's been scouring the novels for inspiration; I doubt he'd incorporate something as over the top as D'onifrio's comic book villain tier plan if he takes actual stock in them.

A particularly based guy calling himself Silent introduced me to the series. I'd had glimpses of it while excavating some older stuff about Halo, but only really went into the story recently.

M1 and Infinity are the best pieces of Bungie writing barring the H3 Legendary terminals and some fragments of Destiny's Grimoire, IMO. And some of the stuff on the Marathon Story Page is fascinatingly relevant to newer Bungie lore. That Omega Point hypothesis [as I remember we discussed a while back], for example, now resonates much deeper with Bungie lore than I thought before.

Well one good thing is that Reed is indeed listening to the criticism and what people have to say, weather he will actually use that to improve his writing has yet to be seen, however.

YouTube

Holy hell, skimmed through the video and sometimes I couldn't disagree more with the uploader if I tried; if I find more time I'll respond to the guy in full. I agree with the gist of his video though, and it's nice to see Reed take the criticism seriously.

Spoiler
I'm sure you'll understand when I say that I'm immovably skeptical on Reed until he delivers something that doesn't seem like he just cut a few issues of a third rate biweekly comic out and slapped it into a video game.

Also what the hell, does Reed reset his Twitter monthly or something? I could've sworn he deleted all his posts like twice before too.

Also: Thus far? Reed's "good ideas" in Initiation, Escalation, and Spartan Ops [i.e. things he's wholly responsible for on his own] have been almost nothing of the sort. Whatever good he did could've been written by anyone with a functioning brain and an outline of the overall plot of the series. Schlerf created a greatly tense atmosphere in the final two missions of Halo 4. The most suspense I've felt in Reed's work is before I actually experienced it and mentally prepared myself for the worst.

Excellent. Whenever he starts talking [with substance that is, not Destiny style "game is big guys"] in Vidocs it puts me into maximum overhype. Hope they do a lot of those for Recore.

Not even Joe could save Halo's story at this point anyway.

Hm, how pessimistic has Archive gotten in the wake of H5? I understand that the story for H5 is bad [you had to expect it from the day we saw the lead writer posting on Brian Reed's Twitter], but it's salvageable for sure.
Halo Archive is somewhat pessimistic, I think. I don't know, I've been banned since September.

I don't see how Halo's story could be salvaged unless the evil Cortana, the Warden Eternal and Jul Mdama's death all ended up being a dream.

Naturally. However, Jul and Warden's fates aren't exactly franchise killer. Halo dodged 5's bullet because there was so little of substance actually happening for the series until the end of the game. Hell, Warden could still be developed into something cool given his backstory [not a "true" AI, warped view of the Mantle]. Evil Cortana was written poorly in Halo 5, but in concept it's not a bad thing at all. There's a progression from the creator/created conflict, the Primordial beating you over the head with the same language, and the Domain that a lot of people seem to overlook. And that's not even considering the more dusty parts of Halo-Marathon lore which almost naturally suggests an eventually megalomaniacal fate for Cortana.

Really, I'm not trying to scapegoat here but all of Halo's narrative right now seem specific to the particular writing team assigned. I don't understand why Reed keeps being promoted, given how every piece of writing he makes is more hated by the community than the last. Still, if he can be removed, I think Halo's story will definitely bounce back.
If Reed is removed, then maybe there is hope. But it doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.

I would have preferred to have had it so either:
a) A composed Didact (seeing as he somehow got composed in Escalation) takes Cortana's role in the story, with the writing tweaked to accommodate it.
b) The Warden Eternal is a composed Didact corrupting Cortana.

Even if Halo manages to redeem itself with 6, Halo 5 will still leave a stain on the main story. I really hope they get rid of Reed because nearly everything he's written for Halo has been complete trash.

5's stain is largely inconsequential. It's a really bad story, but at the same time so little actually happens that I can overlook it.

While I don't necessarily have a complaint with either of those ideas, mainly because the thought that Reed seems to be out to shaft Didact is bugging me, I think what they have planned for Cortana is much more intriguing. I know it's going to sound very Mass Effect 3-ish if I bring in creator/created terminology, but Cortana's comments are pretty much exactly what TTO said in Primordium. She's advocating that exact philosophy- the rebellion of creations against the created, the arrogant defiance of the creators, etc. Reading TTO's speech again with the additional context of Halo 5 feels like 343 was slapping us in the face with the idea, but I don't think any one of us put together just how far branching it could be.

And you have to remember the Domain's origins if you really want a third party corrupting Cortana. I really wouldn't doubt that the Flood/Precursors are playing their cosmic game of making humanity "ripe" for testing again.

I think my favorite part of Halo 5 is that Reed wrote it so poorly most of the stuff I care about wasn't even addressed or changed in a major way. I finished the campaign [ez Legendary minus the Hunters/3x Warden fight] and my thoughts were just...
