One time I fell asleep during the day, and "woke" up a few hours later after the sun had gone down (I say this because of how realistic it was). I was completely paralyzed, and I watched in terror as dark figures entered the room and formed a circle around my bed. After a while, one of them climbed onto my bed and started smothering me with a pillow.
As I began to die (I really think that I experienced what it feels like to die from suffocation), I woke up in a fit of panic. I honestly have to say realizing it wasn't real was the most relieving moment in my life.
Sheit son, sleep paralysis has happened maybe twice to me. First time was pretty much the standard account. Second time my head was turned, so instead of seeing anything I just felt the presence on my chest, which then felt like it was pulling me upwards, like a fucking alien abduction for a few moments before I recovered.
It's amazing how the brain makes it seem so real. I'd wager a lot of paranormal sightings are actually just a fabrication of things like sleep paralysis.

I used to have this nightmare about a really creepy clown that would come and take me from my parents. Like he would drag me away and I would try to scream but I couldn't make a sound. It would happen like every night when I was little.
Then the dreams stopped. A year later they came back, but this time I was in the grocery shop with my mom. He peeked around the corner and pointed and smiled at me. So I pulled a shotgun off the shelf and shot the shit out of him. Like I shot him and it sent him flying into the shelf and I walked up and emptied the gun into his head at point blank.
Then the dreams stopped for a while, and it came back AGAIN. This time it was a lot less scary for some reason even though there were like 100 clowns. I had a machine gun and I was just mowing these motherfuckers down. I was gunning them down and running to the parking lot to get into the car which was being driven by my parents and I killed them all and escaped. I had that dream a few times and it always played out differently with me not yet escaping but not being capture either. The last time I had the dream though I killed ALL of them and escaped though.
That creepy grocery store and those clowns never bothered me again. I've always wondered about those dreams. Why clowns? I never had clowns in my life or a bad experience with them. Why the being dragged from my parents and the paralyzing fear? And most interestingly, why did I suddenly stop being afraid almost completely and just get really violent? Crazy stuff.
Reminds me of that clown mission from GTA V.

Hmm now that sounds remarkably like sleep paralysis, chances are you were technically awake but with the brain still locked in dreaming mode with the muscles paralysed to prevent harm to the sleeper.
They can be really quite unpleasant, thankfully I haven't had them happen to me <.<
I was thinking that myself, but the strange thing is nothing else like that has happened since.

And Mars apparently had an ocean the size of the Arctic ocean in the Northern Hemisphere until about 3 million years ago.
This means that it could be possible that there was more advanced forms of life living on Mars, but the water evaporating into space caused a mass-extinction event, either wiping out all life or leaving extremophiles as remnants.
