Christmas doesn't even have Christian origins I don't know what bothers me more about this kind of comment- how ill-informed it is or how often it is made.
Well, explain, so that I may become informed.

I might just start a collection of these <_<
i'd start with the original sets and work my way up
...i'm sure they're SUPER valuable, though
You can get the old sets in good quality cheaply (like, a few dollars cheap) from Bricklink. Don't let Ebay or Amazon rape your wallet. It should be especially easy for you since you live in the US.

I loved the Bionicle thing McDonald's did. Sure, the toys themselves were shitty, but they came with uniquely coloured masks that you could attach to your Toa.
i thought they were pretty neat
they could fling those discs REALLY far
Oh yeah, I forgot that they shot disks. I have a Protector of Fire and it has a shoulder-mounted gun that shoots those little studs and like, you can't fire it because it's almost guaranteed that you'll lose them. Pic for reference;

I fucking love Voltix from Hero Factory. The chaotic colours and design in general just gives me a boner.

Shooting other children with plastic bb's was also a great childhood past time. Much more entertaining than sticks.
My mom wouldn't let me buy an airsoft gun until I was 13.

"Anything"? No. You can make multicolored things with square edges. for someone who values imagination, you have a pretty shitty imagination
if that's all you can come up with
What?? I'm talking about the physical design of a lego block. There are no rounded Legos. There are no "colored sets" of legos where it's all one color. Anything you build is going to be edged and flat, with a multitude of colors making it up.
Totally edged and flat
Yeah, I didn't have fancy shit like that.
That's a problem on your end - you could get bricks of the same colour for consistency. Also, what you linked isn't lego.
Um, yes it is. That's the Lego I know. Blocks.
Yeah, no, that's not lego. Those are shitty unbranded bricks. You're probably trolling, but if you aren't, you should know that you're acting like an old woman, even with the way you type, holy fuck lol

There are no rounded Legos. There are, though... Granted, they can be kinda rare, but still. There are no "colored sets" of legos where it's all one color. There... ARE, though...
You've never been to a Lego Land, apparently. Or a Lego shop. They have these dispensers everywhere that contain plenty of the same color brick. When I was young, I got a Lego Chewbacca keychain, but the one I picked up was missing one of its little Lego hands. When I brought it to the clerk, he was like, "Oh, no problem!" and I'm not even kidding you--he pulled out a cupboard underneath his next that was filled with little brown Lego person hands, and popped the new hand on. It was hilarious. I still have the keychain around here somewhere.
Anything you build is going to be edged and flat, with a multitude of colors making it up.
I mean, it's just not true, though. Only if you had a limited selection of bricks at your disposal would that be a problem.
See, I don't know about all of that...when I was a kid, I had two types of legos: the square ones and the rectangular ones. Like this. And I didn't like playing with them that much because it looked so ugly to build with. I would have houses and buildings and such, but they were multicolored and shit. I tried to separate my legos into the same color, but I wouldn't have enough to build a house that was all one color with maybe a different colored roof. When Bionicle came out, that was cool, but it was more an action figure than a lego. I've never even heard of Legoland, we just got ours at Big Lots.
That's a problem on your end - you could get bricks of the same colour for consistency. Also, what you linked isn't lego.

He's calling them rectangular blocks, let the dunce be.
Please get more defensive over a child's toy.
I say that I'm not a fan of Legos (not attacking anyone, just my opinion), and in turn everyone just shits over what I used to do as a kid. Calm down.
They're not a child's toy, though. Lego wants everyone to enjoy their products.

>playing with sticks >can't afford actual toy swords
Or I could go find a strong stick outside and not have to pay $40 to have a swordfight. And besides, playing with sticks is so much more fun. They can break, you can throw them as a distraction and then grab another one, you can dual wield two daggers, etc.
It's more about the adventure than the money.

They're building blocks. That's it. yeah
you can build anything you want out of them
that's all
"Anything"? No. You can make multicolored things with square edges.
And that's why I've never understood the Lego hype. Other brands of building blocks exist. Literally countless. Legos are the same. I guess the appeal is they're stronger and smaller? Still a pretty dumb reason that the franchise is an empire at this point.
You could say "We're atoms. That's it".
Ridiculously silly arguments.
Are you really comparing the many things that atoms can create and destroy to the very limited kinds of buildings you can make with rectangular blocks?
But you can make anything with lego. Jesus fuck. Do you have ANY imagination?

Bruh, why isn't this official yet?
The only problem I have with that is the fingers. The little connectors on those parts break really easily.

Lego is for everyone you retard. There's lots of people who didn't grow up with lego and they love it.
You're just being a contrarian.
Since I don't see the appeal of something popular, I'm a contrarian. Got it.
There's literally no reason to not like it in some way, though.

I just find being active and physical outside more fun than tinkering with action figures.
You use your brain when tinkering. I understand it might not have been a strong suit.
>getting this mad over me not liking legos
Nobody's mad here, we're all just kind of baffled that you don't like lego.
Were you born into poverty or something, and after seeing all the kids with those cool lego sets your mind decided to throw it into the sour grapes vault for eternity?
Or, you're just being a contrarian.
Legos weren't even expensive, so I don't know what you're talking about. I just don't understand this Lego craze. They're building blocks. That's it. I built stuff with them when I was a kid, sure, but I don't hold this weird nostalgic fixation with them even as an adult. You guys make fun of me for liking kids shows while you play with kids toys. I just find it hypocritical and annoying.

Yeah, they rebooted it this year.
awesome
Not as awesome as they use to be. I was out with a few friends just walking around Walmart one night and came across the rebooted Kopaka, and bought it on impulse. Looks cool, but the parts are... Weird. All of the armor plating on his body is hinged with ball sockets, so the move around in a really awkward, easily-detachable way. They don't hold together as well as they use to.
I don't like that, either. I guess it's because they have an older audience that grew up with Bionicle in mind, and they would be used for display instead of play. Still, those little protector guys don't have that problem, though they are a lot less poseable, and their arms are weird.

Tinkering with action figures is very good for young minds (hell, it even helps me relax). And it doesn't mean that there is no time for physical activity.

I love how the earlier sets came in a canister for easy storage (you could actually put the fully built set inside), and as an added bonus, the lid of the canister was a lego piece. The canisters were even a part of Bionicle lore from what I can remember.
Real shame that the newer sets come in bags.

I hate this forum's Bionicle circlejerk. Yeah, I had them. Yeah, they were cool. Were they the coolest thing in the history of toys? Not by far.
Name a cooler toy.ninja'd

Even though I'm a HUGE bionicle fan, I will say that the older sets were plagued with an issue of the ball sockets breaking, so you have to be extra careful with them. I treat my Kopaka Nuva like a precious ornament.

Christmas doesn't even have Christian origins, and it's just kind of ingrained in western culture. For example, none of my family are religious yet we still celebrate it.

I couldn't care less about a relationship right now. Why does it matter?
Being around the same person for large amounts of time sounds unpleasant.
You will see the error of your ways. I used to think the same way.
I wouldn't have called you out on making that kind of common mistake if I wasn't aware of it myself ? Anyway, you and me are different. You see, I actually enjoy being alone. Not that I don't like company, but I learned that after a while I get fed up, apathetic and just plain bored.

"See it for what it is"
are you kidding me? It's not any one thing. It means different things for different people. For corporations, it means dollar signs. For the neighborhood priest, it means celebrating the birth of Jesus. For people like me, it just means reveling in the spirit.
There ya go. It means different things for different people. Just because you find intolerable tackiness magical doesn't mean everyone does. For me Christmas = free shit time.
AKA you're a Scrooge

Things happen in that month that make you happy.
that goes for every month
I didn't know other months had a month-long holiday that revolved around warmth and togetherness
lmao @ class trying to be the cliche inspirational force and calling us all mr. scrooge
Maybe cliche, but I'm not giving anyone inspiration. I just can't believe people here are so gloomy about the best time of the year. I look forward to Christmas constantly.
Just because we see it for what it is doesn't mean we are gloomy. Personally, summer -- particularly June and July -- are magical months for me.
