Yeah, I got it for PC during the Black Friday sale and I'm loving the shit out of it.
What I do to speed the start up is to go to New Vegas (surprisingly easy if you know the path) right off the bat with 10 Luck to steal all the money from the casinos.

Obviously not in the same way that nicotine is, but psychologically, for all intents and purposes, this whole not-being-able-to-go-vegan-because-meat-tastes-too-good phenomenon exhibits every single trait of your textbook addiction.
Perhaps it has something to do with eating meat-related products all of your life from a very young age.
