I am getting more hours this week because of the holidays coming up, Mon-Saturday eight hours a day. I hate the job but I need to do it. Staying in the house drives me crazy. I'm also on the substitute teaching list for a school system, but have only gotten three calls in three months.
What about the job do you hate, and have you tried looking for better retail jobs? I can understand the staying in the house part. Although I don't like going out that often, I need something to keep my mind occupied, which I assume is a similar problem. What do you have for hobbies? In my opinion, you should take Kitsunes advice. Find something that you like and peruse it. If someone is only going to put you down and not try to support you in anyway, why should you care about their opinions?

I've only been working three days a week for a long time. I just don't know what to do with my life. I applied to a teaching masters program because I don't know what else to do. And I need a plan B. I graduated June 2014 and am still working in retail
Have you talked to your managers about getting more shifts? Also, if you work hard enough, you can make a descent living working in retail. Quite a few of the mangers at my job back home didn't need schooling to do what they're doing.
