Work on your economy first and foremost.  Most of the time conflicts won't happen in the very early turns of the game.  Build your markets and work on your farming, which grows your population and wealth.

They fucking caved in.

I guess two racisms make a right apparently.

Jesus Christ.  This is no different than a workplace that has to hire a minority to a key position, or they'll get blasted/sued for being unfair and racist.  I'm pretty sure though that performances from black actors last year couldn't hold a candle to Bryan Cranston or Leonardo DiCaprio, but of course they feel it's not "fair."

Lupita Nyongo'o (who fucking won an Academy Award for 12 Years a Slave), George Clooney, and other actors are screaming about the "lack of diversity now too."

And with that, we have our first peek at Wonder Woman

Oh goodie, another superhero movie from DC that seems devoid of any color.

Getting some Guardians of the Galaxy vibes with this trailer...

Eh. It could be interesting, it could be a flop.  I'm still going to check this movie out, but I think I'll be going in with my skeptical side on high alert. <.<

1. Michael B. Jordan, “Creed”: I'm not too surprised this didn't get him a nomination. It was a good performance but nothing that stands out.
I haven't seen most of these (as usual  :'( ) but I would have thought Michael B. Jordan's performance in Creed was at least good enough for some sort of acknowledgement. I think it's a little bit dishonest to say it's not a stand out performance, because it is, especially in the face of this abomination. Talk about a career save ::)

Yeah I have no doubt we'll be seeing Michael B. Jordan in the Oscars soon, but just look at the other actors on the list -- his performance in Creed can't compete with them.

His performance couldn't hold a fucking candle next to Leo's performance in the Revenant.  Just saw it last night and, while longer was really spectacular.

Yugioh was pretty damn good when I was growing up in elementary school.

A couple of years ago, some friends of mine from an Elite clan that disbanded found an online website and decided to build a deck and face off against each other.  I was really annoyed, because when Yugioh first came out, effect monsters and monsters with high attack points were pretty rare to get, but now they're fucking everywhere and seem more OP than the first cards that came out.

David Bowie has died after a battle with cancer, his representative confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief," read a statement posted on the artist's official social media accounts.

Shit, I didn't know he had cancer..

Does it... Just keep going up if no one wins?
Yes
what

someone is going to end up a literal billionaire
Well,, when it's this large, like, over 300 million, and if you opt for the lump sum payout, you lose about 45% of the winnings to taxes.

Even so, losing 45% of $805 Million (for lump sum cash), you still have a shitload of money you wouldn't even know what to do with.

Someone's either going to have a VERY happy New Year, or end up dead from cocaine and hookers.
Your grandkids would be set for life

Great grandkids even

Mos def.  I'd give my friends money and help out people, but a huge chunk of it is going to my close family.  Think I'll pay off my parents' remaining debts, buy my biological family a new house, and shove the rest of it into a trust fund for any heirs I may have.

Like...I get that he's the product of nuclear radiation and looks like a giant Ghoul...but that design choice seems a little horrid, unless Toho actually is going for that Horror approach with the movie.

And I read this Godzilla was over 400 ft tall...guess that's what happens when you get the designer from Attack on Titan doing this.

...yet despite my ramblings and cynicism, I will still watch--maybe enjoy--this movie

I'm hyped.  They're giving their teams more time to complete the games and polish them up, and Ancient Egypt sounds fascinating for a time period.  Think they'll still go with the "You're the main character!" for the modern day stuff?

Ridiculous.  These idiots illegally take over a building, preventing people from going to work, and threaten the law once again to get what they want.

Y'all-Quaeda are just a bunch of wannabe martyrs that use women as shields, Taliban-style .  If they refuse to comply and cooperate with law enforcement, take them down.  They're in a taxpayer-paid building and sure as hell don't speak for me.

I see this delightful shit is still going on.

Anyways, we're like four months away from season 6 with GRRM not even mentioning anything about a release date, so I don't take this as much of a surprise.

I can see Jon's parentage being revealed this season, kinda sucks that we have to see it in the show first but eh.
Eh, if a reveal that's already been widely accepted among the fanbase is the worse thing to be spoiled this season, I'll be fine. What's really going to piss me off is when it starts to spoil who survives and who doesn't in a shitty, simplified way.

Spoiler
Like Stannis?
Spoiler
Possibly. I'm currently not expecting him to die in the Battle of Winterfell but I can't imagine he'll have a key role in the last book. I kind of think the characters they decided to kill off in season 5 were characters that they didn't know where to go with for the show. I mean they cut Aegon and he is obviously going to have a huge role in TWOW so it's hard to say what level of accuracy the show can be held to at this point. I'm more so talking about the A-list characters like Jaime or Arya. If one of them dies, then they surely die in the books.
Spoiler
Arya's lost me a bit. Not really that interested in her story at the mo.
Spoiler
Arya's story is wierd as fuck, both in what I know from the show and books. I wanna know more on what'll happen to Bran, we kinda got an understanding on the type of power Bran has in the Game of Thrones Telltale game(which sucked sadly).

I kind of just want to see Arya's training complete faster so she can return to Westeros, but at least she isn't taking for-fucking-ever like Dany is.

Season 6 prediction
Spoiler
Brienne gets a Valyrian Steel fist and punches Robert Strong THROUGH the wall

Spoiler
Brienne will kill the Night's King and end up on the Iron Throne with a dragon at her side.

I think Stannis will crush Ramsay Bolton at least (Roose may escape), and return to the Wall to face the Others in battle, where he will die.

My second line of thought is that he might take Massey's sellswords and march south only to be struck down by Dany, which I would not be a fan of compared to the first option.

My theory is that, for show purposes, he might be more of a Stark, where in the book he'll be more Targaryen.

Nvm read the thread

Because there really isnt.  Almost 5000 pages, and maybe 1% of them are dedicated to sex scenes.

The GoT show just uses it more often because it isn't held back by George's plot limitations, and is mainly used just because it can.

How dare someone portray characters in "realistic" (i.e. dysentery, et al) situations in one page out of thousands.

That must mean the books are bad and the author has a scat/sex fetish.

That being said, yes his sexual scenes are poor (I believe he admitted he can't write them well), but he doesn't include sex or any of that stuff for the shots and giggles, only if it's useful in his plots.  Trion has sex with Shae because he feels empty, and she fills that hole in his heart, though she is a whore and obviously pleases him just for status and Lannister gold.

His later alleged (by fans) rape of an Essosi prostitute is just another way to show his downward spiral during his period of absolute loss, self-loathing and his disconnect from the world.
