"they became friends"

Of course, a wife-beater and wanna-be cop/murderer getting along with a batshit insane mother/murderer?  Sounds like two peas in a pod!

Maybe they'll end up killing each other. Would make for a great season finale, wouldn't it?

Gaming / Re: Do you still have faith in 343 or Bungie?
« on: December 20, 2014, 03:06:46 PM »
If you asked me when Halo 4 came out, definitely Bungie.

Post-Destiny, Bungie has turned out to be a corrupted shell of its former self, no thanks to signing on with Activision.

343 on the other hand, I can still kind of trust.  MCC multiplayer launch fiasco aside, I'm excited to see what kind of story they can dish out for Halo 5.  What I'm NOT excited for is that some 343 execs sound like they're going to milk Halo for every penny, and continue with games after Halo 6 so we might be seeing Halo 7: Black Flag or w/e subtitle they'll come up with next.

Hey Sandy <3

Oh look, it's the Republicans that scream about state's rights...fighting against state's rights...

gg
You mean how Democrats scream about government not getting involved in the bedroom, but will turn around and get involved in the doctor's office?

These states have very valid claims with supporting the Supremacy Clause at hand. If Colorado had legalized murder, would it still be wrong for Oklahoma to sue?

>Deflecting intensifies

Besides, this case could be a very huge step to looking at Federally legalizing marijuana if (and when, I polished my crystal ball) Colorado ends up winning.
Exactly how am I deflecting? You made a claim that I easily turned back around along with showing that this isn't about stepping on states rights, as the states don't have any authority above the Constitution

Deflecting my factual comment about heavily Conservative states that scream for state's rights start revolting against other states just because they progressed their own laws.

Besides, since his election Obama has made it adamantly clear that he will NOT seek federal action in states where marijuana is legalized which, especially if this case can make it out in favor of Colorado, can end up changing Federal Laws and Acts that currently prohibit marijuana use.

Spoiler
though republicunts in congress will sit on their asses and refuse to do anything about that

Banning certain types of guns =/= taking your rights away.
It does though

For one, the 2A protects against a tyrannical government. How do you expect civilians to fight against terror with 9mm handguns?

Secondly, give an inch and a mile will be taken. Slowly the government will ban certain weapons until there is a total ban

The 2A was written centuries ago and is outdated. Civilians should not have a right to own assault rifles ad the like.
Lol is that the only excuse you can come up with? Can you even give legit reasons to your claims aside from "muh age"?

Tell the Jews in Nazi Germany that gun ownership was outdated, because it was gun control against them that led to the Holocaust. But if you're going to bring up age, then the Magna Carta should be abolished and let the monarchy have unlimited power

Do you even know what an assault rifle is anyway? Because an AR-15 is not one
Even if the jews had guns they still would have been rounded up. So that argument is pointless.
And your proof is where?

Do you have any proof that they still wouldn't have been rounded up?
It's rather common sense that governments listen to force. Ever hear of something called the French Revolution? American Revolution? October Revolution?

FUCKING LOL.  You think Hitler gave a fucking shit about the filthy Jews?  They were inferior, and he would laugh them off even if they were armed and tried to revolt.  He just beat them to the punch before a prolonged fight could happen.

Serious / Removing the mentally incapable from society
« on: December 19, 2014, 12:15:34 PM »
So while idling about at work today, I randomly thought back to a topic a friend of mine brought up in health class at school.  We were watching a video on a mentally handicapped person and how she had to be taken care of her entire life.

My friend, to great controversy among the class, said that mentally handicapped people should just be put out of their misery since they do nothing productive in society and just drain resources.  Of course I was a bleeding heart liberal in high school and likened his stance to the Nazi movement.

However, now that I explore topics more without instantly demonizing them, I think to myself "What if he has a point?"  I would never advocate for ending human life, but he does have a valid point that the mentally handicapped do nothing for society and must be taken care of their whole lives.  I know if I were ever places in that position in my life, I'd rather kill myself than to have my family and friends' stress levels rise because they have to take care of my basic daily routines, such as eating and shitting.

What do you guys think?   I'm still strongly against this practice but it is something to think about.

Serious / China bans puns
« on: December 18, 2014, 09:36:37 AM »
No, fucking seriously

Quote
Of the many things you could ban for the benefit of society and the planet, I would put puns near or at the bottom of the list. But don't tell that to the Chinese government, which announced a ban on puns and wordplay from all media earlier this month, saying that they could lead to "cultural and linguistic chaos."

The order came from the State Administration for Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. According to a notice put on their website, puns and wordplay are "contradictory in spirit to the promotion and continuance of excellent, traditional Chinese culture."

They also called for radio and TV heads to increase the regulation of puns and wordplay. Some believe that the enforcement of the cutback on puns might be difficult, especially given that they are a large part of the Chinese language.

The Administration said puns and wordplay are particularly dangerous for children and make it easier to mislead the public.

Just.....what is even the fucking point?  Or is the reasoning just "Chinese Gubment"?

Here's another link with much more detail
