I'm afraid to see how much I could drink, considering my dad was an alcoholic.......
One time of testing your limits isn't going to turn you into an alcoholic. In fact it'll probably turn you off of alcohol for a while after.

Considering my attitudes towards getting drunk, I probably won't even get close >.>

Unless you're like Kupo, I doubt one beer is going to get you drunk <___<

Hell like Demonic said, test-drinking alcohol might actually end up making you hate it even more.  I know I hated beer after trying a Wilmer Bros on my birthday.

The Flood / Woman's attempt at trolling BACKFIRES.
« on: January 16, 2015, 12:41:07 AM »
Quote
Holly Fisher, a conservative Christian, has been getting insane amounts of attention recently by trolling liberals on social media over the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision. Unfortunately, she tried to up the ante one too many times and now she has unintentionally become the living symbol of how fundamentalism, no matter in what religion, looks disturbingly similar.

After gaining internet fame for posing for a “conservative hat trick” by standing in front of a Hobby Lobby wearing a pro-life t-shirt and drinking out of a Chick-fil-a cup, Fisher wanted to find her next big political statement. Fisher’s fans had apparently been telling her that just standing in front of Hobby Lobby wasn’t good enough. The astute patriots noted that the most important aspects of being an American – guns, the Bible and the American flag – were conspicuously absent. Assuming she could get a further rise out of the liberals she hates so much, Fisher quickly tweeted a new photo to prove just how patriotic she was.

Quote
While many of her followers fawned over the latest “suck it, Liberals!” tweet, one user noticed how creepy the photo was if you stopped to think about it.

This prompted someone to post the obvious comparison: Fisher’s picture next to an almost identical picture of a young woman holding a similar rifle, in front of a Islamic flag and clutching the Quran. Even their crooked smiles are exactly the same. It’s uncanny.

>Christians: Handout Bible
>Satanists/Atheists: Handout book directed at malleable children's minds and depict the Bible as a rapist

Seems legit.

Well hey, the Bible tells stories of men having to marry off their raped daughters,  has tons of violence and war, and depicts an angry and vengeful God before the Jesus chapters.

then there's Leviticus, the biggest contradiction Christians happily gloss over.

The number of Americans struggling to pay medical bills fell last year for the first time in nearly a decade -- the latest sign that Obamacare is making health care more affordable.

Sixty-four million people, or approximately 35 percent of the U.S. population, said they had trouble paying bills or were stuck paying off medical debt in the past year, according to a new survey by the Commonwealth Fund released on Thursday. That was down from 75 million people, or 41 percent of the population, in 2012. This marks the first time that figure has fallen since 2005, when Commonwealth started keeping track.

Well that's some progress.
Really? I've paid nearly $2 grand in medical expenses last year. I make only $8k a year.. Didn't feel cheaper to me.

Those are also most likely the people that signed on for the ACA, silly.

I'm sorry but i'm not into that sort of thing
which doesn't work as a response, because if it was a request for sex, i would have said "i want to fuck you"

which is still not even a request--it's not even a demand
it's a vanilla statement

"fuck you" is not a complete sentence--so it doesn't make sense to respond in such a way

can you do anything right
I think you guys should make out and be friends

Serious / In Florida, Satan just defeated Christianity.

Alongside the Atheists.

Quote
Separation of church and state reigns supreme in Florida schools once again after officials chose to cancel a Bible handout event rather than let the Satanic Temple and Freedom From Religion Foundation distribute their own materials to students.

In response to Orange County Public Schools allowing Christian groups to give free Bibles to students on Religious Freedom Day, the Satanic Temple petitioned to gain equal access to the event in an effort to give students actual religious freedom. The Temple would have handed out the “Satanic Children’s Big Book of Activities.” The activity book asks kids to find ways to be inclusive in order to solve problems.

In addition, the Freedom From Religion Foundation would have handed out materials as well, including a pamphlet depicting the Bible as a rapist.

As a result, the school pinned themselves between a rock and a hard place. Because they allowed bible thumpers to expose students to their Christian beliefs, they opened the door for other religious and non-religious groups to seek the same privileges. And so, Satanists and atheists stepped up to the plate and challenged the school district to enact real religious freedom if it was going to insist upon violating separation of church and state.

But rather than allow the FFRF and the Satanic Temple to distribute their own materials alongside their Christian counterparts, the Orange County school board has decided to cancel the event entirely, thus reverting back to the observance of separation of church and state that would have prevented this situation in the first place.

Quote
The Satanic Temple has once again proven to be an effective fighter on behalf of true religious liberty. As you’ll most likely recall, the New York-based organization recently took Oklahoma conservatives to task for erecting a statue of the Ten Commandments on statehouse grounds. The Satanic Temple petitioned to place its own monument, which features the goat-headed Baphomet with a child on each side of his throne. The ongoing battle between conservative “Christians” and the Temple has put a spotlight on how the religious-right has persecuted other religions in their effort to redefine freedom of religion as something that only applies to themselves.

This victory in Florida further demonstrates that point. Instead of letting other belief systems participate in what the school dared to call Religious Freedom Day, the school board just got rid of the event entirely. In other words, if Religious Freedom Day couldn’t just be for Christians, they weren’t going to let it happen at all. Because the Satanic Temple and FFRF fought for true religious freedom, the school decided separation of church and state was the best option after all. Of course, this must absolutely enrage conservatives, who will likely scream to the heavens that this is tyranny and religious persecution against Christians. To that, I say no one really gives a sh*t about your fake cries of persecution. Also, all hail Baphomet.

Those poor, poor Christians will probably scream about how oppressed they are.  "Oh let's have a 'Religious Freedom Day', but if those pesky other religions decide to butt in we'll cancel it!  Heil Jesus!"

Big applause to the Satanic Temple and the atheists for not letting this slip by.

Summary

Based on the current scientific research, there is no definitively proven "safe" way of inhaling marijuana (smoke or vapor).
Inhaling marijuana smoke in the long-term is likely to result in damage to the respiratory tract.
Smoking both marijuana and tobacco increases the risk of damage from both substances.
While marijuana smoke contains carcinogens, research about the association between marijuana smoking and cancer is limited and conflicting. The same is true for other lung-related diseases.
Marijuana smoking does appear to increase cough, sputum production, airway inflammation, and wheeze.
Using a water pipe or bong does nothing to reduce exposure to tar and carcinogens in marijuana smoke; using a vaporizer may reduce the harm associated with smoking marijuana, however vaporizers may carry their own risks and more research is needed.
Oral administration of marijuana (“edibles”) is one way to eradicate the risk of marijuana smoke on the lungs, but carries with it its own challenges.

Vaporizing is completely safe.
The damage to the lungs from smoked cannabis is insignificant and easily reversible and avoided.
Cannabis cures cancer.
What challenges do edibles have?

Try reading the article.

Quote
Eating marijuana ("edibles") is perhaps a more obvious means to reduce the respiratory effects when using the drug. Oral administration carries its own challenges, however, as it typically takes longer for the effects of the drug to appear (30–60 minutes compared to seconds), making it more difficult to monitor dose and increasing the risk of overdose. Additionally, the effects last longer than some users prefer (Grotenhermen, 2001). That said, overdosing on marijuana is rare and most likely to happen to naïve users. A marijuana overdose can trigger acute anxiety or panic, increased heart rate, low blood pressure, and additional problems. - See more at: http://adai.uw.edu/marijuana/factsheets/respiratoryeffects.htm#sthash.AWh86UQM.FvJlvjV3.dpuf

...to an extent.  If they're stopping an armed robbery in the absence of police or protecting their fellow citizens from harm, then that's fine.

But if they decide to go out on a lynching spree on people they believe are guilty, like the threats against Zimmerman (and yes, I hate the bastard but he will eventually fuck up) and go around killing people, then that's where the fine line is drawn.

Meh I suppose <.<

I've got a goal set for the next couple of months and I know what careers I want to pursue.  The only thing I'm dreading is getting there.  Life, especially these days, is a hard bitch and a half.  I'm kind of afraid of jumping out there on my own (well I won't really be on my own, I'll be with my best friend) and kind of scared of failing and being stuck with nothing.

My older brother is nothing right now, and I do not want to be like him.  Never-fucking-ever.
