Sure you're supposed to be respectful for the people that fought and died for America, but I don't need to look at a flag and recite some words to do that. I've given good money to causes for American soldiers, I've been appreciative to veterans for their service.
Trust me, I used to be overzealous about the flag and America (even wrote a scathing letter in the school newspaper to a kid who wrote an article about how he refused to stand for the pledge) but like I said, I've gone past the point of needing to stand and salute a flag.
I just can't understand that.

I work in a classroom and don't do the pledge. I'm not a retarded drone. There are better, less degrading ways to be thankful or show your appreciation to one's country. Like donating money to a cause, volunteer work, etc

So we have spareribs for sale at $1.97 a pound, which is a nice deal for a big stack of ribs. However whenever we get them out out, they get sold out fairly quick.
Some Mexican dude came in wondering if we had any. I politely told him "No". I guess he couldn't take that for am answer, so he kept asking if we did "rainy day checks".
Now if yiu don't know, a rainy day check is when if we do not have an item that's on sale in our current stock, the customer can ask to buy it at a later date if we get it and the sale is over.
Walmart does not do that, as I politely informed him. That just infuriated him and he was screaming at me to get him a rainy day check for the ribs, even closing in on me. His daughter and wife held him back thankfully because I didn't feel like song my job over this moron.
