The Flood / Re: What came first? The Ghost in The Shell movie or show?

Main article: Evolution
The theory of evolution states that species change over time via mutation and sexual reproduction. Since DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) can be modified before and after birth,[16] it can be argued that a mutation must have taken place at conception or within an egg such that a creature similar to a chicken, but not a chicken, laid the first chicken eggs. These eggs then hatched into chickens that inbred to produce a living population.[17][18] Hence, in this light, both the chicken and the structure of its egg evolved simultaneously from birds that, while not of the same exact species, gradually became more and more like present-day chickens over time.

However, no one mutation in one individual can be considered as constituting a new species. A speciation event involves the separation of one population from its parent population, so that interbreeding ceases; this is the process whereby domesticated animals are genetically separated from their wild forebears. The whole separated group can then be recognized as a new species.

The modern chicken was believed to have descended from another closely related species of birds, the red junglefowl, but recently discovered genetic evidence suggests that the modern domestic chicken is a hybrid descendant of both the red junglefowl and the grey junglefowl.[19] Assuming the evidence bears out, a hybrid is a compelling scenario that the chicken egg, based on the second definition, came before the chicken.

This implies that the egg existed before the chicken, but that the chicken egg did not exist until an arbitrary threshold was crossed that differentiates a modern chicken from its ancestors. Even if such a threshold could be defined, an observer would be unlikely to identify that the threshold had been crossed until the first chicken had been hatched and hence the first chicken egg could not be identified as such.

A simple view is that at whatever point the threshold was crossed and the first chicken was hatched, it had to hatch from an egg. The type of bird that laid that egg, by definition, was on the other side of the threshold and therefore not a chicken—it may be viewed as a proto-chicken or ancestral chicken of some sort, from which a genetic variation or mutation occurred that resulted in the egg being laid containing the embryo of the first chicken. In this light, the argument is settled and the 'egg' had to have come first. However, whether this was defined as a chicken egg or proto-chicken egg is debatable. So technically the egg came before the chicken, but the chicken may have come before the chicken egg. So it depends on whether the question is "What came first, the Chicken or the egg" or "what came first, the Chicken or the Chicken egg"
This is a perfect example of a fuck up because someone didn't read the OP.
No, I read the OP. I just don't know or care what that is and since you posted "Which came first?" I posted that as a joke.

Your question is in the title. Only a blind person would not see what you're talking about. I know you're butthurt you didn't get an answer, but calm down. It's a joke.

Stop being lazy and use Google.
Google is for pussies. A real man uses a dictionary.

The first movie came first, however the anime isn't based on the same universe as the movie. Think alternate timeline shit.
That's helpful. I guess I won't watch the movie then. I saw it once a few years ago at a friend's place while a little fucked up. It was confusing as shit and I don't remember anything.

Additionally: fucking old people can act perverted as hell and nobody thinks anything of it.
It seems the tolerance for creepiness in uncles is a lot higher than it is for fathers. Which is wonderful in my case. Making fun of children is amazing, especially when you're good at it.

Space Explorer. I wish I was born in the age of space exploration, don't even care how dangerous it is being a space ship captain would be fantastic.

I wish I was born in the age of space exploration too. I'd love to have a career extracting resources from asteroids. Born too soon :(
Makes me even more hyped for this movie

Being able to control water & stuff.

I like that fantasy too.
Logic dictates that if you can spontaneously freeze water, you should also be able to spontaneously boil it. So if I were a water bender, in order to kill people instantly, I would either freeze their blood, instantly boil it, causing them to explode, or cut off the blood flow to their brain for a few seconds.
Like Iceman!
Who?
Iceman

He can flash freeze anything and anyone who has a corporeal body, the only people who can challenge him are gods and other omega-level mutants. Luckily, he sucks at using his powers.
Maybe benders are descendants of the X-MEN!!!!

Usually about some warped version of a show or something along those lines

Wow, that runs pretty deep.
Thanks. I have other fantasies too, but the Avatar one tends to drown all the others out. The idea of something mind-blowing being revealed to the characters and their reactions just appeals to me. That and having a villain that they can't beat who is using weapons that they have never seen before. I usually imagine the guy as something like this
The Forerunners did it.

I read that fanfic. It was interesting up until it got to the point where it stated that the spirits and the spirit world were a real place and that the Didact and Lord of Admirals might even be friends there one day. It really kind of eliminates the purpose of any of the conflicts.

Usually about some warped version of a show or something along those lines. Usually LoK, using the backstory I created and the main characters slowly discovering the truth behind the world. An Illuminati of sorts running everything and keeping everything under wraps by giving the world it's spiritual spectacles with the technology they posses rather than actual spiritual shit going on. Like if Korra had a vision of the real past where it shows the destruction of earth through war, over-population, plague, the initial arrival on the new planet, the real origins story regarding wan and lion turtles. A vision where it shows the origins of bending as a artificial, biologically integrated means of self-defense and a way to unite humanity behind elemental nations and prevent racial/religious discrimination and replace it with elemental divisions, with the avatar as a symbol and guide towards progress. It would also show how this AVI(Avatar Illuminati) has kept everything under wraps up until that point. Things like agents using long-range weapons to eliminate threats to each avatar during major events and battles, undercover agents either befriending or becoming an an enemy of an avatar in order to influence the avatar in their paths and decisions(I.E. Azula, Sokka, Bolin) would be examples of their influence.

Stuff like that happening but with different scenarios behind it. Like one where there is a civil war happening within the AVI, with one side favoring revealing the truth to the world and the other favoring keeping it under wraps. Of course, an agent of the side that wants to expose everything and up revealing everything to Korra by posing as a sick, twisted villain that they have never faced before. One that slowly hints at the truth in each confrontation with a small speech and by using advanced technology to kick their asses. And of course, he would defeat them, and while Korra was down, he would show her the truth along with her whole gang. I love imagining what their reactions would be like.

The past would either be revealed with this scenario, or a massive battles between Illuminati factions breaking out all over the world. Massive air battles, ground mechs, super tanks, and augmented soldiers running around using hyper-advanced weaponry to wreak havoc that has never before been seen on that planet. In this situation the avatar and her gang would see some crazy shit. Like ethnicites that were only thought of as legend or have never been heard of at all, ways of killing people one couldn't even dream of, WMDs being used on various scales, etc. Of course, One side would win, but the battle/battles would have served the purpose of the side favoring exposure anyway. So the dazed team avatar and the rest of the world would face the new reality of adapting to a society dominated by these people for the time being while a mass cleanup and aid operation is launched for everyone affected by the AVI's internal conflict.

Either that happening, or in a different scenario where certain world-events that the Illuminati doesn't want happening would be intervened in by agents equipped with various levels of advanced technology, either to inspire certain events, or cause them directly. I also like to imagine that one of these agents would confront Asami though various proxy methods and show her blueprints and schematics for various devices that they need her to invent that would change the world-stage. Sometimes I also Imagine that one of the agents ends up in a one-night-stand with either Asami or Opal, getting them pregnant, and causing drama that would eventually reveal the truth within the tight knit group of the avatar gang.

That or rather than being as old as the previous scenarios, the AVI would be a much more recent development that formed after the general desperation colonization of the planet. They would form using what technology was left over from such events, old schematics and would little by little re-build the human empire secretly and would act as a mythical mercenaries for the super-elite of the Avatar society. But they could only be paid in technology from the time when humanity was first transported from Earth to this planet. Such devices would be considered "Spiritual" to most people in the avatar universe, but the AVI know better. Depending on the worth of the artifact you exchange, you are offered various services. From personal protection to the toppling of a nation. The avatar gang would come hear about the AVI, would believe they are not real, but on of their enemies would find a nuclear device and take it to and AVI calling point, which looks like nothing more than a rock with symbols on it. Of course, team avatar sees them doing so and expects nothing of it. Neither side knows what the device is and Team Avatar expects nothing to happen. Of course, something does. A de-cloaks high in the sky, lands, and a man comes out and discusses the requests of the avatar's enemy with the said person. Of course, because of the significant nature of a nuclear device and the potential damage that can be cause, the services offered would be phenomenal. Before team avatar can do anything, the ship leaves. That's usually as far I I get.

There are more detail but I figured I've listed enough. I've had a lot more spare time than I would prefer today, so thanks a lot for taking that up, Sep7agon.
