I know it's an odd pair, but if they had a baby and raised it, I would be that baby.

It really is a shame. My most liked post is a thread that was locked and the image that was in the OP was also removed. I don't even remember which image it was.

I know it's a bit obsolete, but it's a classic. A very sexy classic. So simple and yet so effective. If the A-10 is the AK-47 of planes than this thing is the M-16.

The Flood / Re: Stories About Being Bullied.
« on: February 20, 2015, 07:57:08 AM »
When I was a kid, I was picked on by some white trash assholes who were two grades higher than me. It was a really small and almost ghetto school down in Texas. I was either in fourth or fifth grade. When my older sister confronted the main bully outside of school, he supposedly broke down crying blaming himself for his parents divorce. My parents didn't know how to deal with it. They took this and told me not to judge him for it and after that, ignored the issue completely as if they had solved something by acting like my bully was the victim and as if his actions against me were justified because of his circumstances. I was pissed. The asshole and his little posse of ghetto rats kept picking on me because I was the little chubby blonde kid in the class and was the youngest. Eventually I was pulled out of that school, grew up and no on picked on me after than because puberty made me looked like a scary motherfucker..

All the damn time. Like so much I can't even tell you enough right now.
Would you type more if you weren't busy cradling your fifty-year-old junk?
Probably. I actually scratch it more than anything else. Even if they don't itch. So if may balls ever get  itchy, I'm already scratching them. It's a win-win situation

Give it to the police, I don't have a permit for it.
In what sick country do you live in where you need a permit for a handgun?
The UK
And a lot of the US, for that matter.
Just to own? What?
Yeah, there's certain US states, such as Illinois I believe, that require permits not just to carry but also to purchase and own.
Link? I know of the permits to carry, but none of which that are required to own? Could you give me a link?

I dont know. Maybe a beaver tail, skeleton hammer, polished feed ramp, and Heinie Sights. Maybe with a Phosphate finish. Thats about it. Then again I really dont like 1911s. Thats why I have a XD tactical model in .45
I see 1911s as more like collector's items. Unless they have double-stacked magazines, they aren't very practical for any kind of defense due to their limited magazine capacity. They are sexy little toys that you take out to the range when you are feeling a little classic and nothing more.

I would keep it unloaded under the cushion, and the ammo elsewhere.
I do not understand that. My guns and ammo are all close to each other. I have three full ammo cans in my closet next to my gun cabinet, and also have ammo in the cabinet. The keys to the cabinet I leave in the lock. My Ruger SR45 is in a drawer next to my bed, with six HP rounds with it in there. I do not keep them loaded in the magazine because I do not want to wear out the springs, but I always have ammo there.
What's the point of having the gun there if the gun isn't loaded. If someone breaks in, do you really want to spend the time to load the magazine, put it in the gun and chamber a round? That's a lot of time and is very hard to do under an adrenaline rush. If you really have it for home defense, you should keep it loaded with a round in the chamber. The magazines can take it. They are designed to have ammunition in them. Even if the springs do wear out, they are east to replace while lives are not
I am on the second floor, I would know if someone broke in long before they reached my room. I also have a Coldsteel Brooklyn Crusher next to my bed. My dog sleeps in my room, she is large, part rottweiler, and is very protective of her home and freaks out when she hears any noise. I am not going to keep my magazines loaded, that is a terrible idea.

You are trying to make it sound like it is going to take me a year to put ammo in a magazine and load my gun, which is not the case. I can load those six rounds and have the magazine in the gun in ten seconds, it is not difficult.
I wouldn't leave anything to chance. That's your choice. I personally would not risk my own safety just for a recoil spring. Anyone who is knowledgeable on home defense would advise you to do the same. I also wouldn't have a single-stack 1911 for home defense either. I would want a gun with a shit-ton of ammo for me to unload at whoever was in my house in order to increase the probability of a hit. It sounds to me like you don't trust yourself with loaded magazines.
