The Flood / Re: What's the most interesting space fact you know?

Betelgeuse going supernova one day. That shits supposed to be brighter than the moon for several weeks and will even be visible in the day time. Gonna be so cool. Just imagine seeing it hen it actually happens. Just looking into the sky and seeing this silent space explosion come up out of nowhere.
Imagine the science news websites trying to do damage control so people don't think the world is ending.
The supernova isn't going to harm us. It is much too far away. It is just going to be a spectacular show and nothing more

And the sad thing is we won't be around to see it.
We don't know that. We don't know exactly when it will blow. It could blow sooner or later.

Seriously Chakas, I don't have all the answers. Go on /k/, find an AR thread, ask there.
I wasn't turning to you specifically and I'm not going to go to one of those shit 4chan sites just for this one thing. I've never had an account on it and I don't want one now. I was just seeing if anyone here knew anything

T4R. I'm looking for an alternative to set screws. Preferably something like the standard mil-spec pinned on gas block, but in the non-standard .936 inch diameter size. Does anyone have any recommendations?

At least it's better than fucking fairies or that perverted frog.
I've never had fairies as an avatar. And why was the frog perverted?

The sense of humor you people have is completely crude and immature. It's disgusting.

Why on earth would they set up that close to their targets when using such heavy duty firepower like that?

The Flood / Re: Anyone know of an affordable .223/5.56 optic?
« on: February 22, 2015, 12:35:19 PM »

I wouldn't mind the no forward assist thing. It's something that to me, is rarely used and serves next to no purpose whatsoever. I don't mind having one, but I'd prefer not to. Other than that, as long as the parts on the rifle are mil-spec, it's fine with me. I actually don't tend to buy rifles fully assembled from companies. I usually custom build them so I know it's done right and in the way I want.

There really isn't any reason not to have one. It aids with cambering. It's just a useful tool.

That's my plan. When I find a lower cheap enough I am going to grab it and start building. Slowly, but I'll start.
If you're looking to build a rifle, this site might help:

Do you want cheap and works? Or do you want something name brand?
Just something that will hold a zero with moderate handling and won't break on me.

Bass Pro has a shit load of cheap glass for under a hundred that will do just that. It's cheap, it'll work, but it's not Eotech, Aimpoint, Trijicon, Elcan, or Leupold.

Look at Truglo. My brother has a Truglo red dot that he likes on this...M&P 15 s-s-sporter.

God as my witness, I will never buy an M&P Sporter. Fuck that. FUCK THAT
Ok. Awesome. And what's wrong with an M&P Sporter?

No forward assist. Barrel isn't chrome lined. I've heard about reliability issues. Just plain dumb.

There is no reason to by an M&P 15 sporter when the Ruger AR556 is a thing. Cheaper, and more milspec than an M&P 15 sporter will ever be out of the box.

Firefighters are badass motherfuckers. I don't know how they don't fall down from the weight of their huge balls. But really, they are legit heroes.

Sooooo.. what?

It means they are more closely related to an inferior, extinct species of hominids than we are.

I has question. If they're inferior because they're extinct......

Then why is it every scientists wet dream to reconstruct a living dinosaur or a mammoth?
So why haven't they? I understand the dinosaur but why haven't they done the mammoth thing?

I still think that African girls are hot. And I'm not talking about some milk chocolate mixing from the Americas. I'm talking about straight up dark chocolate solid black coffee native African girls. They are hot in a primal way to me.

T4R. For a rifle-length AR, does anyone know of a simple, cheap, and somewhat reliable optic?

I prefer the other one.
It was nice but I was a little tired of it and found plenty of others that I liked. I chose this one for the time being. I'll change it back another time.

I would love to be a C-130 pilot. The are such sexy and universal planes. One of my dream jobs is to fly a large, private luxury dual-prop plane across the world for wealthy individuals.

A C-130 is a turboprop plane.
Yeah I know. The c-130 thing was on a different note

The Flood / Re: What do you do when you lose something important?
« on: February 21, 2015, 11:12:16 PM »
I really don't know what to say. I'm a naturally happy person. The only times I feel unhappy are when I don't know what to do with myself or when I'm stressed out about something. Other than that I often feel absurdly happy and grateful for the things I have. I'm often happy certain things even exist. To me, the best way to cheer myself up is to start being productive. Not like doing chores or work that you dread doing, but rather something that you enjoy. Like for me, that would working on guns or leather. I sometimes do this late at night when I can't sleep. I find a good movie on Netflix, play it, and split my attention span between cleaning the gun and watching the movie. I do this with family members sometimes and some of my best memories with them are during such occasions. If you are feeling down. Busy yourself with something that you enjoy doing. Whether that be solving puzzles or organizing nailclippers, it doesn't matter. As long as it makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone, it's worth doing. When I lose someone important in my life, I'm often desensitized and don't know what to think of it. I feel bad for not feeling sad and am confused in what I am supposed to feel. Eventually sometime or another, the full realization of what happened dawns on me when I least expect it; in which case I more or less break down for a couple minutes and am sad for the rest of the day. After that, I usually feel a lot better. Emotions are good for you. Don't dread them, but don't go too far with them either. Nothing in excess is good for you. There is a time to mourn and a time to be happy. Never let one take over the other or you will feel bad.

These shitposts are not funny. They make me sad. People shouldn't joke about this kind of thing. It makes me skeptical about posts like this and I never know when they are real or not. Last time I was in a thread like this, I spent 10 minutes trying to give that person reasons to live and when I finally posted it, he had revealed it was a big joke. I put a lot of time, effort and emotion into that post all for nothing. People need to understand that jokes like this harm people who believe it's real and those who make the threads and actually mean it. Please, just stop.
