The Flood / Need help with the name of a cartoon pilot episode
« on: June 02, 2015, 02:33:09 PM »
It was a cartoon pilot made in the early 2000's. It's generally well known now for it's fresh style that would have changed the way cartoons were back then, but it was never released for reasons that are not definite. it never got past it's initial pilot. One of the rumored reasons is that a scene in the pilot where an airship squeezes between two towers was too reminiscent of the still recent 9/11 attacks. The pilot was centered around a girl and her dad fighting the father's evil twin brother. Anyone remember what it was called?

Are you planning something, chalk?
Nah. I'm just interested in single-action revolvers. If I was planning something, I wouldn't tell you anyway.

I'm hurt chalk. You've crushed my dreams underfoot with the heel of your cowboy boot and the might of your single action cowboy shooter.
Well, I'm about half-way there. I already have the boots. Now I just need the shooter.

T4R. Anyone know of any modern single-action revolvers? Maybe even some classics that can be converted to higher power modern loads?

1146
Well, now they have to import Reach and Wars. God I hope they bring back Halo Reach.

1147
Well if that's the case, when I get Halo: MCC, I'm going to keep my Xbox offline and set the date to December 18, and then reconnect it the next day.

T4R. So this is a bit of an odd one. He does look the part, but if he's anything like his twitter account, things might not go so well. What do you think? I think it's a hard character to pull of with any character.

Silentium.

That's basically it, really. I personally enjoyed the Kilo-5 trilogy, but that's literally just me. They're fairly skippable.
What is the Kilo-5 trilogy?

It's a post-Halo 3 setup focusing on ONI doing dirty shit to destabilize primarily the Elites after the war. Focuses on several points of view on both sides, and gives some backsides to the fellow we know as Jul in spartan ops.

And, also, Traviss used it as an oppurtunity to shit on Halsey's character.

And a few others.
Is it a book or comic?

book
What are the books called?

Glasslands, The Thursday War, and Mortal Dictata.

theyre ok for the most part. Kinda boring and traviss isnt that great of a writer (apparently she never read any other halo book) she also takes the opportunity to look at the ethics of what halsey did
Alright. Is there anything else that came out before Halo4 that is directly relevant to the story line?

the forerunner saga and some comics that i didn't read

The forerunner saga is: Cryptum , Primidorium, and Silentium

But if you aren't into heavy reading or real heavy sci-fi then they won't be for you. Primordium contains a lot of walking.
I've already read Primordium and Cryptum. And I agree. Primordium does contain a lot of walking. And a gorilla, which I didn't see any need for.

T4R. Up until Halo 4, I'd read just about all the necessary literature for the Halo storyline, but then after Halo 4 came out, a clusterfuck of new books, comics, and other things came out. Could someone please tell me what I missed? What is after Glasslands and Primordium?

The Bible by God
Everyone already knows the ending though. It ends with the end of the world.

clearly you haven't seen the sequel entitled Stuart Little 2

The ending comes full circle
Did he ever grow into his bike?

Any preferences for genre or difficulty? Fiction/non-fiction?
I'm not a very avid reader so I would think something nearer to a beginner's level reading. I prefer Fiction.

« on: May 17, 2015, 06:32:49 PM »
T4R. Does anyone here have any book recommendations? I'm open to any kind of books with the exception of academic text books. I've already read The Giver, The secret Garden, Peter Pan and Wendy, Halo Cryptum, Halo Primordium, Halo Glasslands, The Old Man and the Sea, The Pearl, and Gone With the Wind.

I have nothing against it. I'm only against the people who will use this as an excuse to film themselves open carrying in places they know will cause aggression and hostility in order to instigate something and then act like they are defending their rights by doing so.

Well, I started out with 10 fingers, but it seems like I only have 8 now. They tell me I still have 10 fingers because I 'm not as bad off as other people that only 3 fingers. How does this make sense? I don't know. I'm a patriot! 'merica! If the government says it, it must be true!

I find these arguments amusing. So much rage that often times doesn't even make any sense.
I love how being pro gun-control means I hate the US.
Are you referring to me saying that? Because I'm pretty sure I didn't.

Do any of these people actually know how to drive? May, Hammond, and Richard were amazing drivers with years of experience. What kind of backgrounds do these people have?

Are you saying women can't drive? You sexist scum sucking shit bag
I'm assuming that was sarcasm. I was asking what kind of professional driving backgrounds these people have. I'm hoping that they didn't just hire some random celebrities for a show about cars.

Don't assume, because that just makes an ass out of you and me. It sounded an awful lot like you declaring that women can't drive.
I was asking about the driving backgrounds of three people, two of which were men, and you immediately assume that I was talking about the woman and on top of that women can't drive. Afterwards, you use an almost comedic insult that sounds like borderline sarcasm against me. All these assumptions you made and you say

I don't really know how to respond to that.

How about you don't jump to conclusions so quick and then we won't have that problem again?
But you're the one that jumped to conclusions in the first place. What I said was just taking what sounded like sarcasm as sarcasm. I wasn't sure if it was or not and that's the reason I said I was assuming that it was, so if it wasn't, you could correct me. This conversation turned hostile when it didn't need to.

Never did I at any point jump to any conclusions - you were the one making sexist remarks. Sexist people are deserving of hostile response.
I'm not sure if you're trolling or not at this point. I've known people who argue with me just for the enjoyment of my reactions. It was clear that I wasn't making sexist remarks and was instead asking about the driving careers about the three individuals in question. If you still believe that I was making sexist remarks, the I think you are looking for something to get yourself angry. If not, then you are just messing with me. Either way, I'm not going to prolong this discussion. Too much unnecessary hostility.
Nice sexism you fat piece of shit.
Nice fat shaming you anorexic pig.
I'm offensive and I find this Muslim.

DeadShot's mask looks like he borrowed it from Casey Jones(TMNT) got a pair of light-up dollar store toy glasses, cut them in half, and glued hald to his mask.

Spoiler
I wouldn't mind having his rifle though. That thing has a sexy paint job

Fuck you. What a stupidly immoral thing to say.
Well they kind of were. The group that organized the event is known as an anti-Islam group, so it really isn't that surprising
