He's old enough to get a job and run errands for the family so he needs a car. It's an inconvenience to have to chauffeur a teenager that is perfectly capable of driving on their own. The rest of the family has their own problems. He needs to be able to take his ass to where he needs to go himself.

I hear the Leopard 2A6 is a pretty nice ride for those concerned about the things you mentioned.

I was referring to the roads that are driven over each day which is the reason it needs to be reliable. I think I need to rephrase the OP.

T4R. Got a nephew. Needs a car. It needs to be simple, reliable, and reasonably fuel efficient. Reliable enough to drive over decades old, pothole infested roads and gravel paths daily. Any suggestions?
UPDATE: I seem to be homing in on a used Police For Crown Victoria. Seems like a good choice. They are reasonably priced and are built to be used by the police, so they should be rugged. I'm going to try to get one in a nice neutral grey color so the thing doesn't look too much like a cop car. Any objections?
