No. Tipping is stupid.
We don't usually tip here because waiters actually get payed a liveable wage without relying on tips.
Someone gets tipped here because they did a really good job, and not because it's ingrained into society and looked down on for not doing it.
I agree tipping is stupid for the most part, but you don't have to worry about servers starving over there. Like you said, they are paid liveable wages. As for servers, to a degree you can basically determine whether you make a lot of money, or very little based on performance.
Where did I say you HAVE to tip me because I'm underpaid? If I do a bad job don't tip me. But if I do a great job then do so.
But where does that leave "average" or "acceptable" service?
The amount you tip typically speaks for the job performance. Some restaurants list the amount of money tipped for 15% 18% and 20% I'm not saying ONLY tip for great performance. I'm saying let your tip speak for itself. If they did amazing, a good rule of thumb is $5 or 20% An average meal with no problems, people go with 15% usually.
