precisely what am i supposed to enjoy when listening to metalcore? the migraines?
Not huge on screaming myself. "Hands Like Houses" doesn't scream at all, even though they play heavier stuff. "Red" does scream, but they do so only to accent the songs, they sing the majority of the lyrics, they don't have an entire verse where they scream. I like that about them. Memphis May Fire however......they have entire verses of screaming. Too much. their vocalist is incredible and the choruses are so good, I wish they'd just sing the verses. Lyrics are great too.

I'm sure some of you have heard the christian song "How He Loves", probably against your will. Well you've never heard this last verse on the original recording of the writer of the song. He never sings it live, probably because he cries every time he sings it. He wrote this song the day after his best friend died in a car crash, and was confused and angry at God. He lost his best friend.
