The biggest issue is that people have this negative disposition towards the site. They've never looked at it let alone posted on it, yet they hate it because so many other people do. If we can get rid of everyone's hate boners, we'll have better luck.

Dreams of making an expansive movie universe tend to come with an inability to make any actual good movies (Amazing Spider-Man 2, Fan4stic, Dracula Untold, etc) which cause these plans to implode. The only ones that I would expect to catch on would be Star Wars, DC, and the continuation of Marvel due to guaranteed hundreds of millions for each installment. And if the movies are generally pretty decent then there's literally no reason to bitch.
Amazing Spider-man nor Failtastic poor were apart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The thing that bothers me the most is that in the original trilogy, both Palpy and Yoda were shown to be presumably above the use of a lightsaber.
Palpatine refers to Luke's as a 'Jedi Weapon', presumably because he's so OP with his Force abilities
Well perhaps his views changed? ROTJ is many many years later. As for yoda, well a lightsaber is like Sidious said, a Jedi weapon. But also symbolic. Doesn't hurt that he uses one, it's sort of expected from Jedi.
