The Flood / Re: Star Wars Spoilers (Seriously. Spoilers ahead)
« on: December 21, 2015, 11:35:31 PM »
I'm curious as to how Rian Johnson is going to handle the direction of Star Wars Ep. VIII.
Very well hopefully.

Lets just hope it's not "The Empire Strikes Back 2.0"
That's the main trick right now.
Keep the train rolling from 7 but keep it off the OT rails.

But thats another critic issue I have with Ep. 7, it's literally a new hope 2.0, thats not being original at all, why couldn't they do something different? "Oh but the prequels did it different" thats called taking a new approach, its not bad if its done right. The prequels did an awful job (well minus Ep. 3, decent but not great) is because of George Lucas, if it was a different director (like J.J Abram) to direct the prequels with better writing and story, then my complaint for the prequels will be wiped away. There are times where taking a different approach isn't necessary, however sometimes taking a different approach isn't the main issue, it's how you handle it.
Yea I agree. Strange that J.J. isn't doing the next one though.

Probably trying to make each film as good as they can, while also getting development started as early as possible. Episode VIII will start filming in January, if JJ was directing that movie it would take another 3 years to get it done.

Distribute the work load, give enough time for development, and allow different interpretations be given because of new directors.

Nothing really noticable. Too much clutter. In Halo 3 it was simple but perfect.

I could see what armor people had, and if I had it. In later games they are way too detailed.

Verbatim's apparent desire to religiously enforce to the rules if given power, would be liabilities.
A moderator that follows and enforces our rules? How awful.
i think he means that i would be draconian

i would punish people without any forethought

which isn't true, but i think that's what he meant
maybe, kind of, partly >.>

Regarding rule enforcement: From what I remember as a monitor, the rules are more loosely/questionably enforced than one would think. There was a point where I stopped doing much on my own, because there'd be a good chance that what the rest of the staff would do was very different from whatever I'd reason after talking it over with Kits. I figured it was safer to just point stuff out and let someone else handle it.

I can't really see you enjoying something like that whatsoever. Honestly, I'm a bit like you in that I like having a set of solid, consistent rules to govern logic. You won't find that on the staff.
Thank you for bringing this up. This right here is another problem that's always been there with the current (and last couple iterations of) rules and is one reason why it seems to be so inconsistent which certain people have brought up.
Interpretation is very present a lot of times.
That's a reason many past staff members didn't work out.
As I understand, that doesn't quite apply to either of you, but I'm not at liberty to elaborate (nor would I be able to).
Just saying in general. The site is easier to moderate at certain  times when compared to others due to the clarity of the rules.

3756
Is this an attempt at humor?

While I appreciate your shilling for the closet scalie and the Canuck, they were not received well with the community and it was decided that the best course of action was to remove their mod status.

I've heard other things about their moderation, and you've still yet to inform me of why they were received poorly.

I also don't trust this forum's judgement. I mean, we only just introduced strict moderation. What does that tell you.
The moderation has been more strict in the past at times, particularly in Rocket's case this is what helped fry his ass to a nice golden-brown.

In one instance that I can recall, RC and some other user were joking around in a thread where the title/OP called RC out(at the time making threads calling out other users was generally forbidden). The other user got bannu'd by Rocket(maybe RC was given a warning, can't recall), at which point RC and maybe some other users complained about Rocket being "no fun allowed" and generally bad at his position. I'm sure there were other cases, but there was so much drama and idiocy on this site at the time I can't remember.

TBlocks was also in charge of the Sep7agon plug.dj room which a bunch of people hated on him for in there, can't really remember why. He was also upgraded from Monitor to mod for a while, I don't recall him enjoying it, and he didn't keep the position either.
RC wasn't ever involved in anything that happened
Who was it then? Ember or Nexus?

CIS
Huh, thanks, didn't remember that.
holy fuck you confused me with cis?

that's fucking low dude
You are both fat so it's not hard to do that.

He was a lot more scruffy and grown up looking at Comic Con.

Oh well

3760
I think Verbatim is very capable of controlling his argumentative nature if put in a mod position.

I strongly doubt it but I would hope he could prove me wrong if he ever makes it
Any issues that a certain mod can't handle will be given to another mod to avoid bias and such. Should cover any of his weaknesses

"i don't like him; therefore, he would be terrible"

tbf there's like maybe 2 females on this site that aren't confirmed trannies. The odds aren't favorable, no thanks to bungle.
It's so sick that if you say you're a guy, everyone believes you, but if you're a girl, you need to post "proof" and people speculate on your gender and shit. Just disgusting. Get a fucking life.
It's called statistics.

We really need Droids to kick ass

3767
Actually, what "fried Rocket's ass to a nice golden-brown" was a thread where he insulted a user, then when that user responded he banned them.

Rocket didn't ban them. He threatened to ban them.
Oh, the red x beside the username didn't mean a ban?

CIS was never banned by Rocketman.
I could've sworn he banned someone.
I remember warning you and somebody else for spamming the flood with threads late at night. That's all I remember really, I think late night spamming happened twice.
I think that was when me and Nexus wanted to keep the warned symbol on our posts. Then a bunch of people tried copying us.
Maybe. It was after the initial "woah being warned is cool" trend that started.

3768
I just had deja vu, I think this exact conversation has happened before

To summarize what happened:

CIS was spamming a thread. I was  joking around with him (since he says don't take the internet seriously all the time) in an attempt to get him to stop spamming the thread but instead participate.

This is the only time I've ever actually seen him care that someone made a joke to him, and it wasn't meant to be offensive. The warning I gave him was for spamming, not for talking back after I made a joke to him or whatever.

Take that however you want.

TLDR:
I made a joke
It wasn't taken well
The warning I gave made it look like I was covering my tracks or something I dunno. I was totally surprised things happened how they did.
