A good one is ridiculous, it's basically fighting 2 people. You have to take out Luma then fight Rosalina before Luma is brought back. It's an isolation game

Isn't everyone on For Glory super good at the game? I can get a few kills on For Fun, but For Glory sounds nasty
FG is 1% amazing players, 4% good players, and 95% thumbless 9 year olds. It's still good for learning the game, but you'll learn more from playing absolutely dominant players than taking it easy.
It'd be nice having a search function so you could fight certain characters more, help you learn the matchup better.

So it was basically an awesome experience the entire time through?
It was fun but I'm very unsatisfied with how the day went down. Didn't sleep well, got up early, drove through a toll road and barely had the money needed to be in the tournament. I was tired, nervous, played sloppy, and got matched up with one of the top players in my first match.
By the time Sm4sh singles finally got announced I was ready to call it a day honestly.
Friendlies was awesome though. Beat plenty of people in matchups I was worried about, like Rosalina and Yoshi. Thought I was the only Fox player then noticed there were like 5 on a row of consoles. Got told I and another guy were the best fox players there. And one guy at the tourney was actually from my hometown
Kind of sounds like you just had an "off" day at the tournament and the entire day in general. We all have those days.
But friendlies sounded fun, as you detailed.
I got to hang out with a friend I haven't seen in 7 years, so it was pretty cool. Didn't have to fight him in the tourney luckily, I didn't want to eliminate any of my friends.

They didn't livestream smash 4 until they reached the top 8. And my very first match was against one of the best players from the last tournament, a Diddy kong. Seeding fucked me over hard. We were supposed to start at noon but they pushed it back til 4 so by that point I was worn out. Went 1-2

It was there, when the Resistance x wings flew over Maz's castle.
That was my thinking too, the best part of the score. And the shots of Poe flying over Finn while keeping them both in sight the whole time, damn that was fantastic.

I played for a little bit when it came out, quit for a while and only just came back on.
Man I do get really pissed off when I play these games

if i were you, i would focus on playing the single-player game for... at least until you unlock all the characters & stages (assuming you haven't done so already)
try to develop some level of enjoyment towards the game on a casual level before you start playing people online
because, having fun is the most important thing, and if you're not having that, well
Yeahhh I can't imagine picking up smash then immediately trying to do tournaments. Might ruin the game for me because I'm not able to actually enjoy what it offers.
