Short and sweet:
The psychologist didn't say "so tell me about your parents" like psychologists do, implying he wants to get information.
He said "ok, so this is all about your parents is it?"
He made a conclusion.

For starters, I never said it was your parent's fault. Nor insinuated it. But that is always the first place you look for clues in order to start deconstructing.
I get what you are saying and agree that the parents are a lot of times the issue. But again, that psychologist hadn't had repeat sessions and gained all this knowledge about the person they are questioning. They just walked through the door, said "hey this is why I'm here" and he made a conclusion. Based on a greeting. Nobody knows what the true issue is from hearing a single phrase from someone they've never talked to.

It's actually not that far of base.
A ton of problems with people have to do with their parents or stuff that happened to them when they were young. and a lot of times it's something with your family.
You really have to keep an open mind...
Except the psychologist jumped to that conclusion from the first thing said. Like, made a conclusion based on an opening sentence.

Same. And I'm in a bit of a slump regarding being social. Like a buddy of mine. Gave him rides to work every day I worked, for 2 months. We hung out randomly all the time, probably at least 3 times a week. I randomly stopped hearing from him 2 weeks ago, and frankly it sucks. However I have other people who I can hang out with whenever I want. Basically, if I lose a friend or two it's fine, I have more. So I'm never forced to be alone. If I lose all my friends, I've got my mom and brother. You've got tons of people talking with you right now so I'll leave it with this: Feel loved by family and/or friends. And love yourself, find a way because there is no reason that can't be changed that says you shouldn't. See that you have value and meaning, because then you won't need this other person to love you. Because before they came along you had a purpose, and after they show up you will still have a purpose.

I definitely definitely definitely dont lack confidence. Its not that.
Im also not particularly shy either. Im one of those guys thatll just be straight up when i like someone and start making moves immediately (unless there's something in the way, like, a boyfriend. Then i dont do anything but casual talk every once in awhile)
I'm gonna echo Nuka here and suggest you talk to a Psych. In fact I'd suggest it to like half the users here tbh

It's surprisingly easy to not care about girls or relationships right now.
For me anyways.
Ive pretty much just solely been playing Smash to try and escape these thoughts. I only start to care once I stop playing.
I've got plenty of things to keep me busy which is nice. Trying to get better at smash, got another tournament in March, got college. Also playing music weekly, just going here and there. I actually feel too busy to want a relationship. I mean yeah I COULD make it work, but eh.
