For the Nova that has Neil deGrasse Tyson in it one of the episodes was about how old the Earth is. For the guy who was finding it out he ended up having problems at first due lead contamination. He ended up having to create a clean room in order to seal out that contamination. He discovered that the high amount of lead being in the atmosphere was due to gas containing it and he was going to report it. Regularly he was being bullied by guys who were sent by higher ups in the oil industry or some gas related industry. Even though they either knew the effects of lead or at least his evidence is sound, they still didn't want him to go public with it.
Basically it's not surprising that very profitable industries bury any negative research which could either ruin them or cause alternative means from what they're about. No matter how bad it is why go public with something which would cause you a great deal of money or even shut you down?

It's sad that being a manager of a McDonald's has more qualifications to it than being president of a country. For being president the only two things you need are a natural citizenship and being of age.

Sooo, kind of a crude comparison.
The point is that you don't need any leadership skills or a political background or even political knowledge in order to run. The only requirements for you to run are like I said, you have to be a natural citizen and be at least 35 years old. Some foreign person who has great ideas and a very good political background can't run for president, but some high school dropout with no political knowledge can all because they meet the only two requirements.

For RPGs I'm fine with it when it comes to things like speech cheeks, lock picking, stealing and other character abilities. When it comes to combat I think it's the worst thing there is. To me World of Tanks is a shit game because of it. One attack you do massive damage then for the second attack, even though you fired in the same spot you do less damage. I feel that RNG should only be in abilities like in RPG's but for combat with other players it should be a skill based system.

I asked a question about what I needed to score on the test in order to be qualified for a tank crew position. He said I would need to score a 37 which is good news to me because when I took that test at High School I ended up getting a 35. Oh boy I hope my leg surgery isn't going to turn me down and I pass basics.
