Would it be safe to say that the majority or a good amount of the pre-orders are people ordering the game just for the COD 4 remaster? A villain in Black Ops 2 (Manendez) was more fleshed out than Makarov who had 2 games to develop, and he had no character whatsoever other than "lol me loco", along with the plot hole infestation that is MW2/3.
For the first Black Ops I love the trust they did with Reznov. Every time you were with him after the prison level he wasn't there at all, he was some random solider. What makes him even better is that he has five fingers on one of his hands when he should have only four due to a WW2 injury. The reason why he has all of them is due to Alex not knowing about that injury.

In the book battle between The Mountain and Viper The Mt ended up cutting someones arm off and someones head. The arm was an accident but the head was simply because he was mad so he cut off the head of someone to let out frustration. If Tommen does end up being the faith champion I do see The Mt killing him either due to do him simply not wanting to die or Tommen somehow doing a Viper.
