I'm thinking it's about Gendry finally landing and he's the size of a giant due to all that rowing. For real I'm thinking it's either one of those two things.
1: The rumor is about Little Finger and the Tyrell's being the ones he poisoned Joffrey.
2: The rumor is about the cache of wildfire the made king had setup to burn down Kingslanding. To back this up in one of the visions Brandon had we seen a room of the stuff going off. So far there hasn't been a scene where we seen a room of it going off and for the past his plane died with him.

The way those horse soldiers engaged each other is realistic. In real life they did get that close to each other and the battles ended up being fought on top of piles of bodies. Anyway those 62 good men were the only reason why John lasted until the Vale arrived.
That was the strategy Ramsay planned.

Pretty sound if not for The Veil.
That shield wall was the most bad ass part of the battle. Once inside there is no way out unless you have guys on the other side like the over powered Vale.
if they had actually thought to give wun wun a weapon he could have just cleared a path once ramsay's army formed up. hell even without a weapon im pretty sure he could have just jumped over the shield wall or started stomping them.
It's as if he didn't have one just so that scene could happen. It wouldn't be hard at all for the guy to get a tree and shape it to be a club or a giant wooden sword. He should have stayed back with a bow which would be a type of artillery. One arrow would end up going thorough a bunch of people.

Ramsay was the illegitimate leader of the north it's not like many people were going to fight him so he didn't really have much men to work with.

Cool! I tried to get into modelling, but found I didn't have a lot of time to paint and weather them (get them looking halfway decent). One day I plan to try and get back into the hobby.

I'm thinking the same thing as well. He seen how big Johns army is and figured he wasn't going to get any more men out of the North. I highly doubt he was expecting and thinking John would mange to get men outside it since the Riverlands army is destroyed. He knew John was going to fall into his trap so he set everything in steps thinking it would work which it actually did.
