What does candle mean?
it's the only way to know if an egg is fertilized or not. You shine a bright light on the egg (or a candle if your fucking Amish or something)
You can see faint pink/red spots within the egg if it's been fertilized
The thing is, once a fertilized egg is refrigerated the embryos development stops, so you could have easily eaten fertilized eggs from a free range or cage free chicken farm without ever knowing
Huh. Can't say I do that. But I won't lose any sleep over it.
