I drove with my dad a couple weeks ago to the DMV and on the way there I had Iron Maiden playing.

He didn't comment on it or anything. I didn't ask him how he felt about it but I wonder what he was thinking.
Ask him to his face.
Meh I'd rather not. He'll probably just say "Its okay" and then smoke a cigarette or something.
He sounds like he's not even fazed.

Be somewhat confused and move on.
So friggin' stoic. Nihil admirari.

Well, what can I do about it besides make people doubt my sanity?
Show and tell them things with conviction, things too elaborate to be the product of imagination or research. Still... what then?

"You had an alternate life as a shaman."
"Oh cool."

Actually, people might envy you for your double lifetime, which could be bad. People could be somewhat impressed and intrigued as well. I suppose the immediate consequences appear to be purely social.

I think it's a symptom of Schizophrenia to believe you had a past life.
I think that for the purposes of the topic we're 'sane'.

But the hypothetical people we're hypothetically trying to convince don't know that.
Fight them.

Because assaulting people that don't believe you're an entirely stable individual will make them reconsider.

It worked for the Catholic Church.

If only I were the pope.

Your wish is my command, little bear.

Cockroaches. Heights.

Same here, and add the fear of rejection to that as well. It's made me pretty bitter over the years
Don't be bitter, man. You gotta own your choices, and it doesn't count as a bad rejection if you remain friendly and confident. Here's a line (when you find out they have a boyfriend): "Damn, now I gotta be charming for free." :D :D ;D cheeky

Hot and exhausted from running about all day.

Smoke, shit and a shower, then I've gotta dash off to poetry club and other things.

as people have said: you could let star wars do all the talking

show her the original trilogy, they're the adult films, the rest were for young adults; anakin turning sith over an angst attack could only make sense to a 15 year old... wow I'm making massive generalisations here
