On an extremely biased note I'd like to say: Dune. Cos I grew up watching it, and every other sci-fi I saw after never really felt like proper sci-fi. I looked at them as Space Action or Space Horror movies. Like, they just happened to be in space.
bro Dune is great. KML does some outstanding work in that movie
It's gotten awful reviews forever though. Still I love it.
