FFVII isn't like the rest. It stands alone. If you played one of the others first that may have established your expectations for the series.
Yes, its not like the rest, its the least fantasy-esque, making it the most boring FF world and character wise.
It's a beautiful shambles 
These little fantasy villages of all varieties contrasted against the modern cities, and everything in-between. It's like a modern Roman Empire. Steampunk, some cyberpunk. All of it blended just right. I'm not into your run-of-the-mill sword-sorcery-and-unicorns stuff.

If you'll read the thread you'll see that I've investigated the others. Dude, I'm still hoping for one that lives up to VII. But isn't the franchise sort of a joke now?
Plenty have lived up to 7. Hell, even the remake of 4 on DS I think is just as good a story, if not better than 7's. Besides, KAIN is a boss. And FF 10 is regarded as the last "great" Final Fantasy, but 12 is easily good, and the MMO 14 is also amazing. But idk if you'd count that.
As I said in a previous post: FFVII is special to me. I'm not exactly attacking anyone for disagreeing with me here. This was just a Tifa worship thread though, lol. I'm caring as much as I can about others opinions, given the purpose of the thread. It's not something I can debate with you properly, sorry.
