What about Alien vs Predator?
alien vs predator took place in 2004, and requiem sometime shortly after that in 2004/2005. the events of alien and aliens wouldnt happen for another hundred years after AVP, so they dont need to say or do anything about those two movies because they have little to nothing to do with the main series, unless blomkamp decides to integrate it somehow.
Those were the awful ones though. They make 3 and Resurrection look like masterpieces.
i know, but there is no need to address them at the moment, because this next film will take place after the events of aliens. theyd have no reason to retcon the events of a movie that happened like 200 canon years before the events of Alien 5, especially since the events of the AVP movies have little to no effect on the "alien" universe at large
in any case, i kinda liked avp, even though it kinda shat all over everything i thought i knew about alien/predator. if it hadnt been an AVP movie and just a movie about people finding warring aliens in the arctic, it might have been received better
