The Flood / How many applications...
« on: July 08, 2015, 08:38:32 AM »
Is there for a net launcher? Let's see if we can discover them all.

If you had a big enough bowl of pancake mix you could eventually stir the mix properly by firing a lot of nets into it and then pulling them out... you would have to allow for some wastage though.

The Flood / The incident in question
« on: July 06, 2015, 07:28:58 PM »
The incident in question appeared for all intents and purposes as without justifiable grounds. If they were needling you that's one thing, but that crossed the line. You then repeated the thing outside of anarchy, which earned you the well deserved slap for it. Apologies for it to the person in question are fine, but it was still the second time I've ever actually lost my temper with someone online <_<

If the incident appeared without justifiable grounds, then that's on you, not me. Perhaps you should have looked at the situation properly. That seems to be an on-going problem among the staff here. I think that my character speaks for itself, that's if you've paid attention to it in the long time that we've had some proximity. I wouldn't do something like that without substantial duress. If the second time that you've lost your temper online was with me, of all people, then I don't feel that you're properly connected with what goes on around here. And in general I find the implied gravity of the statement more than a little ridiculous. That villainous Elegiac, heh? Especially since I was the victim in that situation. People have said worse than that, in reference to suicide or otherwise, on a continuous basis around here. Perhaps the whole thing works on chance. You chanced to be paying attention at that time, and that made the occasion prominent. And that's just my bad luck. I don't know. But you won't make me out to be a villain, here, publicly, because I simply am not.

The Flood / A couple of points here
« on: July 06, 2015, 06:33:17 PM »
Mr Psychologist

1. If you had a go at me for that, it was something that I did under the same conditions of harassment and attacks that I'm under now. I was pushed to the limit of my patience and bit back at the childish attacks. But that's not who I am. It's not something I would normally do, like, ever. And it was something I apologised for shortly afterwards. And on multiple occasions, since memories are selectively short around here. Something this lot would never consider doing.

2. I don't expect the usage of my username to be policed, but as you said, I reported threads in which the user had made it clear in those threads and other threads that his intent was to attack and call me out. So I don't understand what it is you're trying to say, or what exception you're trying to take with my actions. Pls.

3. I'm getting fairly tired of locking a thread in which elegiac posts and within 5 posts it turns into a shitfest. Just get the fuck over it the lot of you, please. I'm too tired to be politick here.

Agreed. But I doubt they'll listen.

This should probably be a PM but I am also beyond politicking, and it contains material that others apart from yourself would probably do well to read. So go ahead and lock, that's fine. And apologies. Yada yada.

The Flood / Just watched the first episode of Dragon Ball Super
« on: July 06, 2015, 12:32:05 PM »
That was awesome. It really felt like Dragon Ball, unlike GT which was like watching one big really bad filler arc. I like the way they're showing the adventures of Beerus. I'm not sure that it's realistic to destroy.. half a planet, but wow is that some casual violence. Unbelievable mass slaughter? Hey hey, laugh it off, happy happy fun time show lol

Sorry if we've already had this thread.

Your thoughts?

Fluffy clouds waft across a blue sky as you log in and while you chat with friends, Gospel music rings out: welcome to Facegloria, the social network for Brazilian Evangelicals.

The new website's home page bears a passing resemblance to the global phenomenon Facebook.

But Facegloria, which has attracted 100,000 users in its first month, was set up to serve those who find billionaire entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg's version sinful.

There's no "liking" on Facegloria. Here, you click "Amen."

As someone on my facebook said: "4chan will crush this thing when they eventually find it. Just like *every single* time these people set one of these up. There was a republican one of these set up about a year ago, and something awful forums found it and reduced it to a hilarious paranoid mess within a week. Weedlord Bonerhitler knows no boundaries to his infamy."

"Jurassic World" made quite an impression on the global box office, sucking over $500 million in grand-opening earnings into its pointy-toothed maw. It also made quite an impression on zookeepers worldwide.

Leading man Chris Pratt's character, Owen Grady, has a special knack for convincing vicious, deadly velociraptors to chill out. His dino-tamer scene in the film resonates with zoo workers who have to face the challenges of dealing with adorable wild animals like otters, wallabies and dolphins.

A still from the film shows Pratt with his back to the camera and his arms outstretched while three velociraptors stand in front of him, their pointy jaws and claws at the ready. Zookeepers, complete with Grady-like cosplay vests, are re-creating this scene with their animal wards and sharing the results on Twitter and Instagram with the #JurassicZoo hashtag.

This unclassified, fist-sized, octopus is so cute, scientists may call it Opisthoteuthis adorabilis.

Researchers in California are looking for an appropriate Latin species designation for the mysterious cephalopod and, while little is known about it, few would deny that the specimens found so far are adorable.

Stephanie Bush of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute said after a year of study, she is preparing to submit a report to a scientific review that would confer a name on the species, which is a form of flapjack octopus.

"New species are discovered every year, not all of them get described, it can take a lot of time, years sometimes," she said.

Some other species have been deemed adorable, such as Lophornis adorabilis, the white-crested coquette hummingbird.

"I don't see any obvious reason why it would be inappropriate ... it's easy to pronounce and popular with the public," Dr Bush said.

The Flood / Fox Clan Emergency Assembly Drill Recap
« on: July 02, 2015, 05:14:07 AM »
Unfortunately, Cool Foxes, we failed our emergency drill but that's okay, we did really well for a first attempt, and these things are by their nature hard to coordinate. We all showed up, except Darkarrow and Ingloriouswho, and it took us 11 hours and 5 minutes to do it. A time I think we'll easily be able to improve on during the next maneuver!

I'm proud of you all.
I have my own plans for future undertakings, but what kinds of things would you like to see our glorious Fox Clan do?
