I read comments all the time from people who believe that everyone in America runs around with guns shooting each other, because they didn't know that the vast majority of gun crimes are gang-on-gang violence.
That is factually true though. Out of the 11,000 gun homicides in the US on a yearly basis, less than a thousand are estimated to be commited by gang members. And I like to think I'm pretty familiar with US culture, especially enough so to talk about issues like gun control. You do have a point about the cultural context getting lost though.

>visiting Europe >not stopping by the uncontested pearl and highlight of the continent, Belgium
Damn man.
How many severed hands were used to polish that jewel so it may be as shiny as it is?
Close to 10 million, probably. Shame of the nation.
Lol my reply was intended to be darkly (heheh) humorous, didn't expect so direct and plain a response.
Yeah, I know. Just figured I'd be direct, lol.

It looks really good, but from the footage and streams that I have seen, it seems to be really lacking in variety. One of the best things about the Souls games was the massive amount of viable combinations of weapons / armors / rings / magic / stats that you could rely on to create an endless amount of different builds and playstyles. And even though Bloodborne has only been out for a single day, everything I've seen of it looks pretty much identical.
Reading reviews on the game, most of the weapons are varied, fun to use and special. I prefer this over how things were in the other games where a lot of the weapons felt exactly the same.
It's nice that all of the weapons are well done, but that doesn't do much when there's (reportedly) only about a dozen different weapons.

Basically, a plane crashed for (as of now) unknown reasons in the French Alps. Because of the remote and dangerous area, rescue operations are slow, but it is feared that all 150 people on board died. Source. An Airbus plane operated by Germanwings with at least 144 passengers, two pilots and four flight attendants on board has crashed in the French Alps region. In a live briefing on Tuesday, French President Francois Hollande said it was unlikely that there were survivors, adding that the area of the crash was remote. Hollande said it was probable that a number of the victims were German. It was not clear whether anyone on the ground had been hurt, he said. "It's a tragedy on our soil," Hollande said about the crash that ocurred near Digne-Les-Bains in Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence. Hollande "extended all his support" to German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a phone call, the French presidency said in a statement, while the German ambassador to France said she would visit the crash site in the southern Alps within hours. Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said in a statement that at least 45 Spanish passengers were believed to be onboard the plane. Spain's King Felipe VI, in France on a state visit, also said there were no signs of survivors. Felipe said he would be suspending the visit in the wake of the crash. "We know it was in an area where access is extremely difficult and that the search will be complicated," he added. 'A loud noise, then nothing' The owner of a camping site in Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence said he heard the plane come down. "There was a loud noise and then suddenly nothing. At first I thought it came from fighter jets that often hold drills in the area," Pierre Polizzi told Al Jazeera. "The plane crashed just 2km from here, high on a mountain," Polizzi, owner of Camping Rioclar, said. Eric Ciotti, the head of the regional council, said search-and-rescue teams were headed to the crash site at Meolans-Revels. French TV reported that 240 local firefighters and three police squadrons were mobilised for the rescue effort.

No, I don't think that would be such a good idea. I'm all in favor of an anime private group when the time comes, though.
Hasn't that already been made?
I mean an actual on-site private group when Cheat's done implementing those.
Oh well yea. I expect that to be the first group made.
Probably. I can only imagine what would go on in there. >_>

I'd probably hang out with most of you, actually. No one comes to mind that I'd absolutely hate having to hang out with.

You may get crucified by half the forum for suggesting such, OP.
Good to see there's still half the forum that isn't contaminated with weebery.
which is weird, you'd think that you guys would have loved the idea of a self-containing weeb zone.
I just fear that it might scare away certain new users. Putting anime on the same level as the boards of general discussion and gaming could give the wrong impression that we are a forum with a strong and specific focus on anime as one of our main aspects. I mean, would you be as eager to join a forum when one of its three primary aspects was MLP discussion and content?
Well... Coup was full of horsefuckers...
Still a pretty big difference between having a significant amount of weebs on the site and actually putting a separate board up at the same level as Gaming and Offtopic discussion. Doing so would give a pretty false impression of where the site's priorities lie. I don't have anything against people getting their own place for anime discussion, but I don't think it should become one of the main boards or aspects of the site.

Just gotta put in some more time online. You're sitting at just under 30 days online, while the "lowest" mythics I've found are at a minimum of something in the 40 days.
The amount of time you've been on the site influences your rank now? And holy shit, you've spend close to 2 months online.
My 53 days spent online is still pretty low compared to some other users, lol. It goes fast though. I'm not sure exactly how it's calculated, but it doesn't seem like you actually have to be actively posting for it to go up.
But yeah, it does influence your rank. As far as we know, it's post count + time spent online + karma (upvotes/downvotes) that determine your rank.
Upvotes and downvotes have to be worth more individually than a single post. I imagine it'd be worth as much as a single day in Sep7agon.
Which would mean that you have to be a really fucking terrible poster to get into the negative karma ranks.
I have no idea how much they're worth, but it's not as much as they used to be. Now, they really don't hold that much weight anymore. The reason for that is that back in the day, some people would reach the highest ranks extremely fast by being friends with other members and continuously upvoting one another, while other members would have their rank lowered by several downvotes on a whim. After that, Cheat changed the system so that time online and post count matters a lot more.

Can we stay on topic guys?
That was six posts, hardly much of derailment. It only looks like a lot because they're so damn long.
Oh I know, no rules broken. Just figured I'd give some advice to prevent this from derailing before I'm calling it a day.

You can press the "quote" button underneath someone's post to address them directly and send them a notification of your response, by the way.
And it's good that you answered no to the second question. You and I can be good friends, one day.
Don't worry, we'll convert him soon enough.
Weebs go home 1945 best year of my life.

This is only making me more determined to have a "for being a weeb" template added among the ban reason defaults.
Only if I can have "being a socialist" an option for automatic reporting.
