What kind of casual do you take me for?

They should just have something like this done.

We usually do, though. Most ban/warning templates already come with a link to the relevant post or thread, as shown here: The only times I don't include a link to the thread is when it's blatantly obvious what you are being banned for. If you're spamming the place up with a dozen new threads, posting meatspin or are blatantly ignoring a warning given to you just a few minutes prior, it should be pretty clear what you're getting banned or warned for.

Yeah, Meta's right. This doesn't belong in Serious. If you want to edit something or change it before I move the thread, now's the time.
I don't see how this cannot be in serious. The rules don't state anything against it. And I've stated already why this is in serious.
Well, Azumarill already listed the Serious categories. The main purpose of this board is for debates to take place. What goes here, are highly debatable and discussable topics. This includes certain current events, politics, history, economics, science, law, ethics, social issues, religion and so on. So while a thread along the lines of "I was just expelled from school, discuss and AMA" doesn't belong here, "I was just expelled from school for violating a certain rule, discuss school policies such as dress codes" would be fine. You can include a personal story in Serious threads, but there needs to be something with actual debate value to go with it.

1. Dozens. 2. Permabanned? Two or three. Lite-banned? 15-20, I'd reckon. 3. Because they said that My Little Pony is for little girls.

OT: I've just been working on my thesis for these past few days. Getting a little boring, but gotta push on I suppose.
So what's the topic?
Simply put: The legal and judicial protection of Open Source Software and Source Code, both through copyright - copyleft and patentright - patentleft, and the legal aspects of the distribution of modified Open Source Software such as exoneration, liabilities and commercialization.
Just reading that response stole 5% of the joy of life from me. Good luck, man.
It's legitimately interesting stuff though. Just gets a little tedious putting day after a day into it.
I don't find that interesting at all. Give me one 'interesting' part of it, something that might make me think "Wow, that's interesting. I want to learn more."
I assume that if you have little interest in law or IT stuff, then this isn't going to be interesting no matter what I say.

We already have a random chat thread on the front page.
Although I must admit that this one has a nice setting and rather comfy looking chairs.
Can we leave it up just for now, and I won't make another one again?
This one is distinguished by a rainy day theme... ?
Yeah, I'll leave this one up. Try to give the general chat thread a go next time though, see how that turns out.

My dislike for anything League-related aside: hold on to it. That price is going nowhere but up. See where it goes.

One warning has already been issued for insults and personal attacks in this thread. More will follow if this discussion can't continue in a civil matter.
Seems pretty civil right now. Am I missing something?
Nah, you're right. Things are fine now, but people were going at it pretty hard just a page ago. Plenty of insults being thrown around. This is just a general warning for those people not to start that up again, or they'll both get hit harder this time around. Serious board is for serious discussion with a certain standard of civility. Just briefly reminding everyone of that so that I don't have to whip out the banhammer.

I can control it with ease. I generally think in Dutch, but have absolutely no problem instantly switching to English, French or German on the fly, both in terms of talking and thinking.
