I'm curious if the vote is going to be followed or not. The UK is more divided than ever and to throw away decades of closer European cooperation because of one side clearing the halfway mark by 1.7% on a whim? It's not a 70-30 or 60-40. Or even a 55-45. It's a 51% for one side. That's a very unconvincing result to abandon the status quo supported by about 49% of voters.
Poorly done Britain. This was a great chance to actually achieve Union reform.

Thank goodness we still have political analysts that can draw the conclusion that it's going to be close when it's 50//50 8 polls in, lol.
"Michael Thrasher, the psephologist who is number crunching for Sky News, has just said the eight results in so far suggest it is going to be very close."
Thanks Michael for that insight, couldn't have figured that out without you.

And Foyle yields an 80% Remain vote, bringing Remain back in the lead. That's probably going to be it for me. Almost 2am and I have plans for tomorrow. Here's to hoping I get to wake up with good news.

First results are in! Gibraltar was the first polling station to complete counting and its results massively favor Remain (as was expected for this area in particular).
Remain: 19,322 votes
Leave: 823 votes

Ipsos MORI's poll from today reveals a 54% vote in favor of Remain and according to the Financial Times' editor, sources are reporting that similar results were found by the private hedge fund exit polls conducted today. Polling stations everywhere are reporting an exceptionally high voter turnout and based on these preliminary surveys, Remain appears to be winning. The earliest actual vote results are expected to start coming in within an hour.

And apparently Farage is now trying to unconcede according to some reports. Quick thinking, Nige.

Farage is saying that it looks like Remain is going to win. And based on some Twitter accounts, Boris Johnson has been reported as conceding that Leave is likely to lose as well.
Still, nothing official though.

For anyone on the pro-gun side (if that's what it can be called), what exactly is the opposition over universal background checks? I understand that it would place a burden on small dealers or individuals selling guns, but is that the only argument against them?
I also recognize that, as far as I'm aware, those background checks wouldn't have prevented any recent mass-shooter from obtaining weapons, but it just seems like a common sense law.
People against universal background checks usually claim they're ineffective and that they lead to registration which they claim will turn into confiscation. Poor arguments, but that's what most claim.

Starting my first actual job in September. Really quite excited for it, especially after the talks I had today.
Are you seriously 23? I thought your education took 7 years or so. Did you advance some years or something?
I'm somewhat of a year ahead of my peers. Graduated high school when I turned 18 and immediately started law school following the model track record. 3 years to get my Bachelor's in law, 2 more to get a Master's and then another 1 year for a specialized LLM. So 6 years of higher education and I'll be turning 24 in October.

Good choice. When the EU army marches through the streets of Britain and your next monarch is a Turkish islamic migrant, Remainers will be spared while filthy Brexiteers like Meta will be round up and publicly executed.

I found an interview of Roger Bootle, if you're interested Flee:
Seems like a smart man. Does he say what he's voting for?

Certain polling stations have been closed due to floods. My god people, what more of a sign could you need?
This is going to hurt the Remain vote more than anything. . .
Is the flooding in London?
No clue, just saw the headline. Could be good or bad for either campaign depending on where it's taking place.
Yeah, it's in London.
Which is the strongest bastion of young Remainers in the country IIRC.
I assume commodities will be made?

Ayyy, smash it lad.
Well, my professor and future coworker just asked me if I wanted to be part of a panel of experts meeting with Europol representatives and the federal police next month to support and give a brief on the implementation of new data protection rules which my thesis covered, so I'm slightly dazed right now. Next part of my prophecy on Remain winning confirmed truth?
