Ignore the potion skill tree despite this though, it isn't very useful, unless you absolutely love brewing potions.Ugh, not at all. Crafting and alchemy have always been some of my least favorite parts of any RPG. I got all achievements for Skyrim without ever doing either, I believe. Sucks that I'll need it here. Anyone got any good tutorials on how to do it properly? 3573

Pleasantly surprised by the combat so far. Not as good as Dark Souls, but still better than I had feared. Killed some wolves and drowners near the beach where I found some treasure.
Also, Ciri can be killed by whatever foul creature has its eyes on her. Petulant little annoying kid get out. 3574

Just started my playthrough of the Witcher 3 (GOTY, all DLC included). Never played a Witcher game before (other than the first half hour of the Witcher 2). I'll be playing on the Death March difficulty (the highest setting), so any and all tips are very welcome. How do I successfully beat this game, friends?

I mean what with all of the hate directed at them immediately after launch trying to calm people down right away wouldn't help.Honestly, I hope I would do things differently if I was in their position. Many of the issues come from them not being transparent or open about what they're doing. I think much of the outrage could've been somewhat avoided if they kept communicating with players after the game came out. Apologize, talk about patches/fixes, address the complaints about lies, change the Steam description, suggest refunds... Complete silence might be understandable, but not talking is really one of the worst things to do in such a situation. 3580

I know several Americans in real life who are actually going to vote for Trump because they believe he's going to shake things up and get rid of evil politics in Washington. And these are actual voters. Not reddit trolls or stupid teenagers who are too young to vote but still post dumb shit on the internet for the memes. 3582
Serious / Re: NYTimes Releases Report on Trump's Tax Records« on: October 03, 2016, 02:54:02 PM »Yawn, Clinton used the same method to get out of paying taxes.Yes, she used it to get a 3,000 dollar tax return and avoid paying taxes on around 7% of her income while she paid almost 4 million dollars in taxes at an effective income rate of 43.9%. Clearly the same thing. 3583
Serious / Re: NYTimes Releases Report on Trump's Tax Records« on: October 03, 2016, 02:51:27 PM »Careful Flee, Hillary isn't exactly innocent herself when it comes to taxes (albeit not to the extent Trump is but still):Alright, two things: 1. I didn't make my post to say that Trump is a terrible candidate because he tries to minimize his taxes, as is very common among the wealthiest. It's one thing to play the system in such a way that you end up paying little (or in this case, zero) taxes. But it's something else entirely to do so, lie about it and then maintain for years that you are doing your part for society by paying taxes, that people not paying fair taxes are a major problem and that you believe the wealthy such as yourself should carry their weight and pay more taxes, all while repeatedly calling out others for not paying fair taxes. Trump can evade taxes all he want. But lying about it, pretending like he's paying his taxes fairly and that the wealthy should contribute more and attacking others for trying to minimize their own taxes? That's just showing what a petty man with a terrible personality he is. It shows that Trump has no issues with straight up lying to millions about his contributions to society. That he makes up pathetic excuses ("but the audit") to avoid being honest even when the IRS says that there's nothing stopping him from revealing his tax returns. That he will gladly cut corners and abuse the system for his own gain at the expense of others, and worst of all, that he thinks this makes him "smart" (which his moronic supporters actually believe as well). 2. They're not nearly the same thing. First, long term capital gains and losses is not necessarily a loophole. It exists in many tax systems all over the world and has a legitimate purpose. Just because you file long term losses does not at all mean you're being dishonest or are trying to evade taxes, as millions use it honestly. Secondly, Hillary did not "use the loophole". One, Trump filed close to a billion dollars in capital losses, Clinton only filed a few hundred thousand. Two, if you actually look at her returns, you'll see that she did not use it to file a negative income. She filed a completely taxable income of over 10 million dollars, something which Trump did not come close to doing. Three, her tax returns literally say that the reduction she received out of this was capped at only 3,000 dollars. Clinton, who makes ten million dollars a year, abused this notorious loophole for a tax reduction of just 3,000 dollars. Trump used a loophole to not pay a single dollar in tax for 20 years. Clinton used "the same loophole" to miss out on 7% of her income and get 3,000 dollars in returns while simultaneously paying 3.6 million dollars in income tax as opposed to Trump's 0. ![]() Clinton paid an effective income tax rate of 43.2% in 2015. In the 15 years before that, she never once dipped below 36%. Trump paid an effective income tax rate of, as far as we can assume, 0% for the past 20 years. I'm not a fan of Clinton at all, but to imply that these are even remotely comparable just because Clinton filed some long term capital losses (which is not a loophole in its own at all) is simply ridiculous. 3584

Serious / Re: NYTimes Releases Report on Trump's Tax Records« on: October 03, 2016, 08:30:33 AM »I wouldn't really call losing $916M in a single year gaming the tax code. Surely that loss far outweighs how much he would have paid in taxes. He's just a garbage businessman with a weird 90s cult of personality thing going on.You just don't understand, Turkey. Can't you see he's just being smart? I mean, it's not as if he called people out for not paying taxes or anything. Or say he would be OK with paying more taxes himself and that it's outrageous that millionaires pay very little tax. Or call out another billionaire who took measures to avoid paying higher taxes. Or say that wealthy people, including himself, are and should be willing to pay more. Or call out Amazon for abusing a "scam" allowing them to not pay fair faxes. Or say that he "doesn't mind sacrificing for the country" and state that the reason we have problems is because of people not paying taxes. How can you not see that this man is a modern apex of virtue and honesty? That he just says it like it is, regardless of your delicate sensibilities? That him lying and cutting corners just so that he can get the most out of something at the expense of others somehow proves he's a smart businessman who will make America great again? Stop drinking the CNN koolaid, Turkey. Trump does what he says. He's not part of the 1% self-serving corporate elite. He's representing the common man and will shake up Washington for the real American, unlike the lying Clinton who only looks out for corporate interests. 3586

What I don't get is how anyone can entertain that notion for more than a few seconds and still think voting for the man is somehow a good choice. Almost all arguments in his support are thinner than paper and based on such enormous amounts of misinformation and bias that it blows my mind reading the utter bullshit people spout in his support.A lot of people support Trump simply because they detest everything about Hillary. To them (and partly to me), she represents everything wrong with the US government, from corruption, to being the privileged class (no FBI indictment), to other various things we've all heard time and time again.Trump is an idiot, it says a lot about his voters.I'm inclined to agree. I already beat Wolfenstein TNO and even though it's far from the brilliance that is Enemy Territory, it was still a good game. Hadn't really considered Alien Isolation yet. I'd actually be inclined to agree. Drug criminalization and legislation has never been something I'm particularly interested in so I'm not aware of the science of it all, but my own experience would indicate that. I've seen some close and very smart friends from high school start with weed, prioritize getting high over performing at college, moving on to smoking and hard drugs, and finally failing classes. Small anecdotal sample size and all that, but I feel like it makes sense that weed makes it easier for people to feel fine doing nothing and for them to move on to the harder stuff.
