You can avoid spoilers by just staying away from forums and such, but if the episode's opening straight up tells you what's about to happen? Kinda meh. What is up with this shit of anime spoiling its own episodes? 2253

What is up with this shit of anime spoiling its own episodes?
"Thanks for Waiting, Lord Beerus! A Super Saiyan God is Born At Last!". Wow, I sure do wonder what kind of Super Saiyan is going to make an appearance in this episode. "This Is All the Power I've Got! A Settlement Between Gods." Damn, the epic climax of this arc. How will it end? Surely they won't just settle? "Change! an Unexpected Return! His Name Is Ginyu!!" I sure do wonder which miscellaneous character is going to make an unexpected return in this episode. "Fusion Zamasu's Explosive Birth!!" However will Zamasu overcome his opponents now. It couldn't possibly be the fusion technique? "The Gods of Every Universe in Shock?! Losers Erased in the Tournament of Power". Geez, if only I knew what the big plot twist of the tournament might end up being. It's like you have to skip past the first 4 minutes to not already know what's going to happen in half the episodes. 2255

The Flood / Re: Dragon Ball Thread (DBS episode 91)« on: May 25, 2017, 06:01:09 AM »That might be part of it, but I think Japanese voice acting is pretty shoddy as it is. I watch stuff in foreign languages all the time but yaps in anime is just ugh. So over the top, constant screaming, often either super high pitched or extremely low... I know it's just part of what anime is supposed to be like, but it's not my thing. The only DBZ voices I can vividly recall are Goku and Vegeta, so all of the others are pretty much like new to me. I'd watch the dub if I could, but I'm not going to sit around and wait for that. That's because you grew up with a different Goku, for the Japs listening to Sean would also be weird. Some parts aren't too bad, but most of it is really quite shitty at times. It's so exaggerated and plenty of the voices don't feel like they match their characters. Still, it's bearable and not that big of a downside.Yeah man, go hard or go home. Weeb voices are bad but it's whatever. Already at episode 63.Goku and the gang vs. Black and Zamasu is the first real awesome fight. 2265

Serious / Re: Explosion in Manchester at a concert« on: May 24, 2017, 12:55:00 PM »I'd never reject an argument based on the background of the person making it, but it really is baffling how often some Americans know little about this situation while still telling others how to deal with the fallout of the situation the US helped create. Freedom of religion be damned, just throw all of them out, he says, probably without ever having spoken to any of these people or having even the slightest clue of how this affects society and the people in it. Mordo is speaking some proper truth.I agree that immigration needs restricting, but the solution to terrorist activities isn't to hound out people who have lived here for generations just because they subscribe to a set of belief systems, however immoral they may be.So you're okay with allowing people who believe in a religion that refers to non-believers as infidels, and that infidels should be killed to live in your country when you know for a fact that these sort of attacks, conducted by people of this religion, aren't going to stop? You're okay with these same people who treat your women like disposable garbage because to them they are whores and impure, simply for not following their religious standards? You're okay with these people who hate your country and westernism as a whole? 2269
Serious / Re: Explosion in Manchester at a concert« on: May 24, 2017, 12:46:08 PM »So then how do you propose stopping these home grown terrorists, and why is it that countries who haven't accepted any refugees haven't had these same problems? It goes beyond just the terrorist attacks, crime in general has gone up too.See my post above. "But X doesn't have the same problems" is a flawed argument. Countries that didn't let in refugees still see terrorist attacks (see Hungary in 2016) and others that do account for immigrants (Bulgaria, Austria) haven't. These attacks are aimed at high profile Western targets and I don't see a sufficient case made that it's countries letting in refugees which causes these attacks. And immigrants causing crime to go up is also such a shoddy and incorrect argument. There are plenty of studies out there on the lack of strong links between immigration and crime, and there's even more and more and more and more and even more analyses out there on how what you say does not hold true for the current situation in Europe. As for some examples of countries which have taken in refugees: Belgium - Lowest crime rates in 20 years. EU as a whole - Crime rates dropped as a whole, in particular for assault, theft, homicide, robbery, burglarly. Germany - Violent and general crime rates continue to fall ever more despite the influx of immigrants. Sweden - effects of immigration on crime are small and crime stats of the most recent year are virtually identical to the year before while violent and most other forms of crime are lower than they were before the influx of immigrants. 2270
Serious / Re: Explosion in Manchester at a concert« on: May 24, 2017, 02:17:32 AM »And every morning I pray to Ganesh and put on a mask on the back of my head to scare away tigers, and to this day I still have not been attacked by any tigers. Which is probably because there's some very flawed logic behind statements like that and because correlation does not equal causation. These countries are simply of no interest to terrorists, unlike high profile targets in Western Europe. Why haven't there been any recent attacks in Austria or Bulgaria, two countries which do take in refugees? And there have been attacks in Hungary, even though there's little known about the perpetrator.Poland doesn't take refugees and they've had no attacks happen to them, same with Hungary.Out of all 6 events that are considered terrorist attacks having taken place in the UK since 2010, 2 were committed by right-wing extremists and 4 by British citizens (one of which suffered from major psychosis and paranoia). Not a single one was committed by a refugee, and these stats are similar for continental Europe. I'm not too pro-immigration myself, but this meme that it's refugees being responsible for these attacks is just wrong. 2271
