My processor, according to LC, is too old and incompatible with anything new. Fair enough. You just said it was an i5 and there's some really good i5's out there, so it was worth a shot. PC Part Picker does all that for me, no? It should, but it's not always 100% accurate. You just want to look up the specs of the case and see that it has enough space for the GPU and motherboard. You'll be fine otherwise. Yeah but that's illegal, no? Nope. It's perfectly legal to have a non-activated copy of windows 10. Does practically the exact same thing and you can get it from Microsoft's own website. All I need is a motherboard, I can't seem to find ones that the website says has no compatibility issues with.
There's different sizes motherboard, case and GPU's. The case in your link says that's it a Micro one, meaning that it's really small and not compatible with full sized components. That's probably why you get the incompatibility warnings.

Operating under the pretense that my friend will give me the money he owes me this Friday, I can increase my budget to 750CAD (600USD). If it's a little more expensive than that, I'll be okay. Here's what I have so far:

how's this look - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/PQjwf8
you can bump the cpu up to a G4600 or i3 7100 if you want to but this one works just fine
you can get by with the 1050 Ti here, but if you've got the money for a 1060 or a 570 then go for it
i don't think that can run PUBG, though

Upon closer inspection: you don't have cooling, I'm not seeing a motherboard and I think your CPU is going to bottleneck your GPU.

1. Check your current processor. 2. Optical drive isn't necessary, might want to reconsider. 3. Check dimensions of case against dimensions of components. 4. Consider AMD instead of Intel if you're really on a budget. 5. OS is free if you don't register it. 6. Google all individual components to see if they're cheaper elsewhere. Otherwise, looks pretty good but I'll check out the details later.

That being said though, a PC is a pretty big purchase. It's something you'll use a lot and presumably not just for playing a handful of games. The difference in quality of parts (noise levels, power consumption, built quality, durability), performance (loading times, FPS, lag, speed of games and everyday tasks) and lifespan (how long you'll continue to be able to run "recent" software) is pretty huge between a $250 PC you salvaged together and a $500 one. It is of course your choice, but because a PC is never just a small purchase and you'll probably want something that'll last you quite a bit, you might want to consider saving up a bit more and go for a better computer altogether.
If you are going PC - you might as well go for the absolute MAX'd out specs. Why would you build one that is just on par with a console? You will be forced to upgrade if you want to play more recent games.
You will struggle to even get a "PC master race"-tier PC for 500. For 200 you can maybe some 32-bit motherboard with an integrate GfX card and the power supply is a phone charger with a 12 Amp fuse. Build a case from a cereal box (endless customisation options there) and you probably don't have enough money left for a keyboard mouse and monitor so you have to steal them from your school. Pirate Windows XP, and use your smartphone as a HDD.
After all that, you get home, plug in your beast, wait for the 512k RAM to boot up your BIOS, GRUB your pirated WinXP, load up YT and tell everyone in the comments that you are a member of an elite club.
Is this pasta

You are going about this the wrong way. $200 is an incredibly low budget for a PC. It's practically impossible to assemble a computer at that price without cutting major corners and bottlenecking it badly. Even the cheapest of laptops come in at around $200, so there's no way you're going to get a full desktop PC (plus monitor, because you need that too) at that price point. If you can't raise your budget a bit, you have to look at it differently and not buy new parts online.
First, if you do buy parts online, don't just stick to Newegg. Only around 1/4th of the parts I bought were actually cheapest on the sites Newegg recommended (and even if it seemed like it was, most were dubious retailers that then charged a ton for shipping or added a % credit card tax or some shit). Do your own research and you might find Canadian (or local) retailers that sell the same parts at a lower price than Newegg. It'll take some time, but you can save a bunch comparing prices. Also, there's sites out there that track price changes and stuff for you. Especially for Amazon, it can be useful to see what the highs and lows are and when you should buy something.
But even then, you're not going to get down to $200. You're going to have buy things used. Look at Craigslist and Ebay for used parts. Go to local hardware stores and secondhand stores. Go cheap on the things you can cheap out on. Turkey's advice was solid. You already have a desktop PC. Take everything out and you have already have a case, fan (maybe) and power supply (400W should be enough). Check out exactly what components you have in your PC by getting Speccy, a small free program that does it for you). If you have a decent enough i5, you might be set with a CPU too. 4 gigs of RAM is a bit low, but you can add another 4 onto that from ebay or a thrift store for real cheap. You might also have a motherboard that's good enough to get you by (they don't matter much for performance, you just want to make sure it works with the components you want). Storage is also really cheap (you'll be able to get a random HDD from any second hand store). Once you've got those checked off, all you really need is a GPU, which is still the biggest determinant for how well (especially older) games run. With a bit of luck, you can find a solid one on Craigslist for a 100-150$ and you'll be set at your budget. And if you really don't care about graphics, you'll find an old Dell or CRT monitor at any secondhand, thrift or hardware store for $15. It might not be HD, but you say that's none of your concern.
tl;dr:
- strip your old PC for any usable parts, or buy a random one at a thrift store to salvage a case, fan and power supply - buy cheap RAM and storage (HDD) at a local secondhand or hardware store, or look around on Craigslist/eBay - spend the bulk of your money on the CPU (older Intel will do), motherboard (anything that's compatible with your components) and especially the GPU (look on Craigslist/eBay for a deal on an AMD card that's a generation or 2 old) - get any monitor you can
That'll keep you around 200-250$. Otherwise, you really won't be able to just buy specific parts new without bumping up your budget.

Who the fuck is Yulia, anyway?
Unclear. It might be his katana or the female undead merchant on the other side of the bars. Some think it's the big bucket next to him or some imaginary creature he keeps in it (he strokes the bucket when you talk to him enough), but there's no evidence either way.

Wait are there boomerangs in Dark Souls?
Unfortunately not. There's a miracle in DS3 that behaves like one and comes back after you fire it so that it can hit opponents in the back, but that's about it.

Yeah, lately, a somewhat minor but steadily growing issue I've had with the game overall is that most (if not all) the bosses—and even the enemies, too, really—pretty much have these completely random attack patterns. Which is fine, because there are no attacks that are impossible for you to avoid, but it basically makes the fights feel a lot less organic than they should, because the AI isn't actually using real strategy to fight you. So instead of feeling like a real evil monster that's trying its absolute best to kill you, they tend to feel more like a somewhat mindless creature at best, and a scripted AI programmed to do random, soulless, stochastic tasks at worst, completely indifferent to your current standing in the fight.
Sure, some bosses will throw projectiles at you when they detect that you're at a distance, but as soon as you're close-quarters, it all feels like a dice roll. Because of this, I can kinda see why multiplayer and pvp is pushed so hard.
I can only hope the bosses are a bit smarter in future games.
Yeah, the game definitely isn't perfect. It's around 6 years old now too, so it's showing its age in some areas such as the AI. Still, I don't think it's that bad. The dice roll keeps you on your toes and there is a bit more variety than that. Some bosses just show it a lot more than others (Queelag for example has a decent number of attacks with specific triggers).

Hmm, I have two of those.
I had the option to create the Crystal Ring Shield, but I went with the spear instead, of course. I wonder what it does.
Fires a white disk of magic damage at an opponent. It's got pretty shitty stats and the attack really doesn't do all that much. Used to be different though. Back in the day there was an exploit where the attack damage of the shield's attack was determined by the (magic?) damage of the damage in your right hand. It was a bug and you could one shot plenty of bosses by exploiting it.

Your voice is absolutely fine, much better now actually.
Cool bits of trivia in the latest video. That Pewdiepie fact made me smile. I didn't know you could zoom in with the binoculars.
Seeing how you handled the Gargoyles takes me back to my struggles fighting it for the first time. I still regret using a summon for that—especially knowing if I started a new game, I'd have a much easier time fighting them.
Capra is probably my favorite boss, actually, though strictly in term of its design. I'm not sure if I have a favorite boss in terms of the fight itself yet. It's easy to say O&S or 4Ks, just because their challenge makes them more satisfying to beat, but I think my absolute favorite is still waiting for me somewhere.
Yeah, you can zoom with the binoculars by presing up/down on the d-pad while using them. I think Capra is a really cool boss design-wise too, but many people don't like him as a fight for a number of reasons. He's one of the most "artifically difficult" bosses in the game because you have no real reason to assume he's there, you have no room to back out, and within a single second of coming through the door you're trapped between 2 dogs and the demon itself. Unless you know what you're getting into, get lucky or play as an overleveled/turtle character, you're almost guarantee to die on your first attempt(s). The fight is pretty RNG heavy too. Even though I like to think I'm pretty decent at the game and have fought him a dozen times before, it still took me 3 tries to kill him (even though the only reason I "lost" the first 2 is because I killed myself after taking any damage). You can get a really easy opening with the dogs coming at you one by one so you can dispose of them easily while Capra lingers behind, or you can get blocked by all three of them before you can even make it to the stairs. It's pretty random even for veteran players. And the last issue is getting to him. When you die on most bosses, you can just run back there pretty easily and ignore the enemies if you want to. Golem, Ornstein & Smough, Gargoyles, Taurus, Quelaag... all of which you can just "speedrun" to very easily. But with Capra, you have to get through this really narrow street with first a bunch of hollows and then 3 dogs + 7 rogues that can backstab or hit you with a throwing knife and stun you right away. It's again really random and very easy to get stuck and just get piled on before you can make it back to the boss, making it so that you have to kill all of them every time to be safe. All of the above make him a often hated boss, but he does look cool as shit.

Next up are the Gargoyles. Upcoming videos will be more action packed, don't worry.
So, how do weapon arts work anyway? How do you know if your weapon has an art?
Does the Moonlight Butterfly Horn have one?
The term weapon art is actually from Dark Souls 2. It's not technically called that in DS1 where it's just a special attack. Whether or not a weapon has it just depends. Sometimes it's mentioned in the weapon description, but you just gotta try for yourself. Two hand it and press RT/R2. The effects vary pretty considerably. Some fire a bolt of lightning or slow down enemies in the vicinity, while others execute an area-of-effect blast around you. The Horn just has a long thrust attack with massive range, which isn't anything special. The weapons with special attacks are: Priscilla's Dagger Jagged Ghost Blade Drake Sword Dragon Greatsword Dragon Greataxe Ricard's Rapier Drake Sword Moonlight Sword Ornstein's Spear Crystal Ring Shield Grant Stone Greatsword Bonewheel Shield Havel's Shield Black Knight Weapons
