What are you even talking about? Quake Champions, one of the (if not the) best FPS to come out recently, just went into Early Access a few days ago.

Clawz takes the duel championship 3-0 against Vo0. His aim was insane.

game looks pretty fun, i like the pace, but this is awfully nauseating to watch
Yeah, it's not that accessible without experience with the game or genre. It's so fast and twitchy that it turns away many. I sometimes feel the same watching the likes of Smash Bros which isn't that fast but has a lot of tech going on on the screen that I'm not familiar with.

You're all idiots. This is from Reflection of Mind. A HIGHLY reputable scientific outlet known for groundbreaking articles such as "Have NASA scientists discovered GOD 17,000 light years away?", "What is it? Moon certainly not, UFO? Planet X? Nibiru?", and, of course, the classic that shook the world: "President of Russia Putin reveals class dominant in the world are reptilian hybrids". So get your fake skepticism out of my face!

2z are the new world champions, taking home $300,000. Definitely the best team in the world right now.

And Liquid's out. Very close game though. All European finals in both game modes now.

If Google didn't punish him, they would be accused of silently giving consent to his opinion. Regardless of what he said, the safest course of action is to just fire him.
So challenging his points in an open discussion was not an option at all? Is a representative of Google explicitly stating that they do not agree with or endorse his memo not evidence enough that they actually do not agree with or endorse his memo? You're telling me that firing him was the only way for Google to express that they did not agree with or endorse him?
I am absolutely not fond of the idea that an employee is not allowed to openly criticize the company/corporation they work for, and I do not like the precedent that is set by firing those who do openly criticize their employer.
You're forgetting the part where he (unintentionally) created a PR nightmare for Google and made cooperation with many of his coworkers difficult to impossible in practice.

And just as I write this, 2z takes the first game. Next up: Liquid vs Notofast. This is the big "EU vs USA" game coming up now.

Finals stream has just started. Even if you haven't been watching any of it until now, you might want to tune in later for the best players to duke it out.
In Sacrifice (team mode), we're now onto the semis. We have the European teams of 2z (godlike team consisting of 2 of the best team players ever + 2 amazing duelers with great individual skill) against Defendants (really good team of veteran players and former champions in team and duel games). Then, it's NOTOFAST (godlike team consisting of 4 amazing duel players) vs Liquid (biggest esports team with the most funding behind it consisting of the best two American players and a French guy who's arguably the best team player in all of Quake and who's won major tournaments in 4 different FPS games).
My prediction: 2z is going to win the first match for sure. Notofast vs Liquid is going to be closer, but I think Notofast will take it. Defendants is definitely the weakest team, all of the others are without doubt the best ones in the world.
In Duel, we'll have the bronze medalist match between DaHang (for the longest time the second best American player who beat the undisputed American champion earlier in the semis) and Cooller (Quake Duel legend and arguably best Q3 player ever). The grand finals will be held between two very surprising finalists, being Vo0 (Dutchman who was amazing in Q4 and Painkiller) and Clawz (young up-and-coming player who was Cypher's protegee back in QL).

Day 1 Recap for those interested:
- Sacrifice team mode played out as expected. Out of the 4 EU and 4 US teams, 3 EU teams qualified for the semi-finals with only the worst EU team losing (barely) against the best US team. Tomorrow we'll have 2z vs Defendants and Liquid vs Notofast to determine who gets to play in the grand finals.
- The BYOC Duel local tournament went perfectly. All of the pros who joined in a last effort to qualify for the main tournament succeeded. Evil, Spartie and the 4 Australians all qualified for the proper Duel tournament.
- The first part of the Duel group stage held some surprises. Strenx lost against the American player Dooi. Cooller beat Rapha 2-0 in a game that could've been the grand finals already. Evil lost against Fazz, and Raisy beat Tox. In the other groups, Killsen, Spartie, Av3k, Clawz, Vo0, Xron, Noctis and DaHang have all won their first games (as expected).

Cooller 3 - Rapha 0.
What a game. Two absolute legends and top contenders for the grand final here and Cooller wrecked him.

Results of the first day of team games - the teams that go on to the next round are:
Team Liquid (Rapha, Dahang, Winz and id) - US (and one EU player) 2z (Clawz, Xron, Latrommi, Silence) - EU / RUS Notofast (Noctis, Toxic, Fazz and Stermy) - EU Defendants (Av3k, 2GD, Deus, Kryza) - EU
Time for the Duel games.

ooh, fun
that's if i can figure out how to get there
it'll be exciting if i do, because i seem to recall someone doubting that i'd ever find it while playing offline
Oops, my bad. Thought you already found the Painted World (hard to keep track with your infrequent updates) which is why I mentioned that potential spoiler of the ear. Not really a spoiler, but eh. And yeah, many people miss the necromancer stuff on their first time in the area. It seems like the skeletons in the cemetery near firelink are just immortal, but they're actually kept alive by the first necromancer that you come across when you enter the catacombs.

What's up with everyone here caring about me not wanting to watch this guy's videos because I think his style is unappealing?
probably because it's such a bizarre and shallow reason not to watch a video
i don't actually care that much, it's not important that you watch it, i just think your reasoning is a little asinine
"i don't have time to watch a 17 minute video" would've been reasonable enough
I don't care enough to watch a 17 minute video is most of the reason. And I think that not liking someone's "style" is all the reason you need not to watch a video. Maybe it gets better later on, but I'm just not a fan of the guy.

Couldn't make it 20 seconds into the video. Good for them, but damn that's some obnoxious shit.
you stopped at the exact moment that they stopped having a reasonable and well-deserved flip-out over an extremely arduous and soul-crushing case over dumb bullshit
Doesn't make it any less obnoxious and painful to watch.
And it might be reasonable and well-deserved, but that was the fakest reaction I've seen in ages. Thanks but no thanks.
How was it fake at all
they just spent 100 thousand dollars and a year of stress fighting this bullshit
if anything they were pretty contained
Because you might react like that when you're in court and get the results. Not much later after you've (probably) written a script for it and are recording a youtube video for it. Even Verb knows it's fake. And just look at them. Come on now, that's clear as crystal man.
I just watched it now and apart from his coughing schtick it's honestly pretty normal to still be fucking pumped about getting a positive outcome in something like that. They're also excited to tell their viewer base. You've clearly never been taken to court for anything.
I don't see how any of that is relevant. It looks fake to me. And even if it wasn't, I think the entire thing and his personality are pretty obnoxious and don't like watching it. So I'm not going to. Simple. What's up with everyone here caring about me not wanting to watch this guy's videos because I think his style is unappealing?

It is as fake as my behaviour and attitude on the internet. I think Ethan just used to exxagerating everything, because he is doing that in his regular videos and probably because he personally enjoys it. It`s something that attached to his personality during his youtube career.
I don't really see your point. He's used to exaggerating everything. It's attached to his personality. I personally think this is pretty obnoxious and off-putting. I don't dislike the guy, I don't disagree with his stance in this whole copyright case. It just makes me not want to watch his videos. End of story, no?

If you pay enough attention when entering the area, you can actually tell what that lever does. It's nothing random that happens deep down inside the catacombs for later or something dumb like that. Can I assume you know that you don't really need divine weapons for this section? The skeletons are controlled by the necromancer guys with their torches. If you kill them, the skeletons they raised will become mortal and will actually die permanently if you kill them. Thought I'd throw that out there since you already beat the area. It's also easy to miss if you only use the divine weapon because you can't really tell that it triggers their mortality. The spike bridge isn't a puzzle or anything lazy. Did you miss trusty Patches? It's also great fun in PVP and shows how much the level design shines with being able to find hidden workarounds and jumps. Sacrificing items to covenants works with tiers. Every covenant has 3 tiers based on your devotion and you rank up through them based on your contributions. What you have to sacrifice is different for each covenant, some require humanity, others require specific items you get through PVP, others need stuff you get from co-op and so forth. If you'd play PvP, every time you kill a Darkwraith you basically cut off an ear and get it as an item. You can then turn them in at the Covenant leader to rank up and gain rewards. The rewards you get different between covenants and tiers. You can get armor, rings, spells, shortcuts and stuff like that. It's not necessary to beat or progress in the game at all, but it's fun nevertheless. Also, you can get every single one of the items through offline play too. Many of them are pretty grindy though (the ears are dropped by creature in The Painted World, so you can just farm them there too).

or don't, just know that this is an overall net gain for content creators due to the precedent it sets for youtube and fair use
I pick this option. Happy for them and the youtube community, but not interested in watching this video. I've seen one or two of his videos before and didn't particularly like them. Also, 17 minutes? Bit long. I read an article on it though. It'll be interesting to see if the other guy appeals. A normal district court opinion doesn't hold that much weight against that of a Court of Appeals. If they win there, then that'd be a huge victory for this stuff.
