Halo is growing ever closer to CoD.
Lemme cast a flame resistance spell on you.
Eh, I don't need it. I'm pretty sure that even the most dedicated Halo fans have to admit that we are straying away from Halo's roots and are becoming more and more like CoD.
See, I don't understand that statement. Because yeah, the visuals and UI are becoming more modernized or "codified", but the gameplay itself still centers around team plays, power weapons, and map control.
It's an arena shooter. Which is as far away from CoD as you can get.
But that's the thing, Halo is becoming less and less of the arena shooter it was. Loadouts? Perks? Ordinance drops? All things that fundamentally go against what makes a game an arena shooter. The UI and visuals aren't becoming more modern, they are just becoming more like CoD. Instead of trickjumps, grenade jumps and free/basic movement, we're moving to vaulting and climbing. Instead of barebones gameplay and movement, we're moving to sprinting, jetpacks, thrusters, sliding, slamming and groundpounds. From toggled zoom to "hold down LT to aim down sights". From a completely match-to-match based system to XP, upgrades and levels. I don't know how familiar you are with the core arena experience of games like Quake or UT, but I'm growing more and more reluctant to consider Halo as a genuine arena shooter.

You mean like me with my banhammer? I know it's what the ladies like, never realized British men fell for it too. Spoiler OT: That was a mediocre episode at best.

Great horror movie. I recommended it in that one movie thread a while ago, I believe.

For the vast majority of words, -us becomes -i in Latin plural, yes. Just like how -um because -a, -a becomes -ae and so on...

You reported it twice, accompanied by "reasonable explanations and comments" like "yo, come on". Psy gave Challenger a verbal warning to knock it off, which he has. If he does it again, he'll receive a formal warning which may even end up being a lite-ban at this point. I didn't think the comment was bad enough to warrant being altered, which is why it's still there.
I reported it more than twice, in the beginning accompanied by comments such as 'This encourages further harassment.' If my third, fourth or fifth reports contained comments such as 'Yo, come on', then I'll just have to beg your patience.
In that case, I'm not entirely sure if something has gone wrong here, but there are only two reports in the system.

Can something go wrong? Is there a report history? Of my reports?
If they even exist, those logs are admin only. All I can see is the contents and amounts of reports about a certain post. In this case, it only shows two reports for that comment.

Come on guys, let's not go down this road again. The both of you only just had your lite-ban lifted. This, in combination with the fact that they were for offences in Serious, plays a part in following moderation and the tolerance we have for starting the exact same shit all over again. Having discussions, even the heated ones, about this is perfectly fine, but comments like "to compensate for your tiny dick or some shit" and "sounds like what some kid in special ed would say" are personal attacks that will not be tolerated in Serious.
And as this thread is about to get locked anyways as per Kinder's request, let this be a warning for future threads just the same. Play nice, both of you. Arguing is fine, slinging insults is not and shall be dealt with accordingly.

Maybe replace the default report functionality with a ticket system? Then reports would be separate from PM's and reports could be closed when they've been dealt with.
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/?mod=2491
That's pretty much exactly how it works though. We get notified of reports separately from PM's and we close them once they're dealt with.

If I had the time, I would. I'm also definitely going to be doing a review of my phone once the next Cyanogenmod update hits.

if you haven't received a response, chances are, the mods don't agree with your grievances
at that point, if you care enough, you can question them personally
Actually in this case it's because I was taking a shower <_<
As much as I'd like to be hardwired into Sep7agon 24/7, I can't >.> Yet.
Flee was here though.
As Psy pointed out, I'm right in the middle of my exams now. The next month and a half is going to be the busiest period of the semester for me. It means that I'll be at home studying a lot, so I'll probably have my laptop and Sep7 open the entire day, but most of that time will be spent AFK and refreshing for reports every few hours. Also, a lot of staff decisions aren't taken by individual mods or monitors. Whenever it's something more serious or important, we usually end up discussing it in the staff chat and don't always take action right away. Patience, young padawan.

Pretty much what Psy said. We get this big message at the top of the screen telling us there are unread mod reports. Clicking on that link takes us to the report center, where it shows us who reported what post in what thread at what time for what reason. If we then do something about it, we get half the people calling modbias, abuse of power and the rules being too strict. If we don't, we get the other half of the people calling modbias, playing favorites and the rules not being enforced nearly enough. Moderation is a pretty tricky issue. Sometimes it's obvious (john cena meatspin spam, for example) but the vast, vast majority of times you have people on both sides thinking they're in the right and that the rules should be interpreted in the way that they are in the clear while others deserve a ban. It's not always easy finding the right balance between strict enforcement of the rules and allowing sufficient discretion to the members, all while trying to determine who's in the wrong and how it should be dealt with on an individual case basis.

Yeah, not going to let this devolve into a "who can come up with the best and most personal insults" kinda thing. Play nice, friends.

Goblin Sharks are cool.
Frilled sharks doe, fucking hell.

Just one of the very many reasons why the Oceans are more full of nope than a planet being invaded by the tyranids.
The only thing that scares me about the ocean is the thought of giant sea monsters !(◎_◎;)
Yup.
You've got all manner of freakish abominations lurking in the twilight/abyss regions of the oceans, I honestly don't understand how people can just go scuba diving ._. I get fucking unnerved in swimming pools, let alone the ocean. And you have people who just... live and breathe water ._. Weirdos.

Feels good man.

Seriously, does it not bother you that you can't see everything behind you and you could get ganked from damn near every angle by some deep sea gribbly? .-.
It never did, actually. Being underwater like that is a pretty wonderful and fascinating experience. I never stopped to think much about what could be behind or below me, except for the one time we ran into a barracuda.

We don't have a thread about that because?
Because nazi mods and tyrannical rules prohibiting NSFW material outside of Anarchy. It'll be back though, so you better start saving those Canada Nudes for when the board comes around again.
This is what happens when we let Belgians make the rules. They put mayo on everything.
French fries need mayo. Anything else is acceptable, as long as there is still mayo on the plate. Otherwise it's a clear case of heresy and blasphemy.
Oh my fucking god I'm going to vomit.
Listen, pal, we invented fries so we get to call the shots on what's acceptable or not.

But no. Had to do all the vidmasters.
Well, I never did. Consider it some kind of rebellion, similar to an eight year old saying "I didn't even want to come to your birthday party in the first place". 2cool4recon

I still have a burning hatred for Bungie because the first thread I made on Bnet was me asking for a well deserved set of Recon armor over an absolutely fenomenal cone splatter kill on The Pit. Damn assholes never gave it to me.
I'm literally sad for you now
crying even
I haven't stopped crying since. ;_;
