If you sleep under your bed, your roommate might move out.
Worked like a charm for me.
What if I sleep under you?

Depends on your dorm mate.  My friend has had shitty ones so far, consisting of a weirdo who would sex up fat girls on his bed and a douche bro.  You could get someone cool or be by yourself though.
Most dorms in the UK are single bed rooms, the only thing you share with others is a kitchen and a bathroom if you don't opt for a room with an en suite.
That doesn't sound that bad actually.  Just learn to cook some food nigga and slay that pussy.
Lived alone from 16 to 19 my nig, cooking is easy. grilled chicken and rice errday

Have you decided where you want to go to Uni yet? I remember you contemplating both Portsmouth and London
Yup, I've got offers from both so as long as I get the grades then the choice between the 2 cities will be up to me.

MOVE OUT
but why?

Well do you like it at home?
I like that I don't have to cook.

Gonna throw out my two cents: don't be embarrassed to live at home, but don't put off the benefits of living in a dorm. Less commute to class, total immersion in an academic environment, quick access to lots of peers and professors.
Yeah true, I'd also the enjoy the freedom but my mother isn't very mentally stable, I look after her whilst my father is at work. I have siblings but they don't give a shit.

Would guessed 20 something and living alone.

You're only a year older than me mofo
Bitch I was living alone at 16

A lot of people go to uni just for the experience. And by that I mean partying.

Its the main reason why I'm going to be moving out.
I'm going to do a degree in petroleum engineering so I won't have time to party. It's not really something I enjoy anyway.
Are you some sort of faggot, faggot?

What did you do at college?
I'm currently doing my A levels, Biology, Chemistry, and Maths.

Would your parents be paying for the dorm?
lolno
Everything will be covered by government student finances of which I'll pay back through the tax system after I graduate.
that sounds so lovely
Indeed, without student loans I'd never be able to go to university.

So you got a grant or state scholarship? Can't you just pocket that money if you live at home?
It's not a scholarship, our government provides loans that cover tuition fees and cost of dorms but you have to pay it back.

In a dorm, make sure you have/make friends, or you'll probably end up depressed which will impact your studies.
Although, being close enough to live at home is great, not much change and you stay comfortable in your personal environment, rather than going through a period of adjusment.
It's not that much of a problem for me. From the age of 16 (my 19th birthday was last April) until last summer I was all alone so I could probably do it again.
dude, seriously, make friends in college, and make friends with people in other majors. a new friend could give you a big break later on in life.
I don't find hard it to talk to people I just never really click with others so becoming actual friends with people is hard.

Dorms are shit
It's only the first year, in the UK only first years at university get to stay in dorms. They hope that after your first you've made friends and can find student housing.

Depends on the distance, your financial situation, if you have a job, etc, really.
Travelling there everyday is not an option. Thinking about it now I'll be better off just living at home.

Join a Frat bro
This is usually the part where we all call PSU a dumbass, but it really is a financially sound decision to live at a frat house.
We don't have frats in the UK

I should be starting this year, any word of advice?

Contemplating whether I should move out or not. If I move out it'll obviously cost more but it should more fun right? Staying at home will be cheaper and I won't have to bother with cooking for myself.

ahhh decisions, decisions.
