Have you learned all the bad shit about America in school over your schooling? I doubt it. Things are cut all the time.

Actually, yes. Yes I have.

Sure you have. Theres zero chance that you've covered every history book, front to back in every class. Theres just not enough time.

Why? For one, I bet its 5% students who actually care and 95% who just want to get out of class.

Also, students don't dictate what is taught. If that were true, I'd love to have a class dedicated to the history of all 4 major sports and get rid of math. But its not up to us as students.

Considering the protests are contained to a few AP classes, you're right. A small amount actually care, but that doesn't make their cause any less important.

So, you're fine with the cutting out of who sections of US history, eh? Some patriot you are.

Yep absolutely fine with it.

Have you learned all the bad shit about America in school over your schooling? I doubt it. Things are cut all the time.

Its all good though. When those kids are in summer school this year, I'll be funny.

Do you think its funny to tell someone to kill themselves online?

You really need to take a look in the mirror and reevaluate your life. Even if you are joking, its still not something you say.

Of course not.

Oh, this will be good.

Why not?

I cut my own every 2 weeks.

I highly recommend learning to cut your hair or get a loved one to do it. Saves a ton of cake.

I'm asking, why should I have to justify anything to anyone other than myself?
You don't have to, but if you're gonna post in threads like this, it'd probably be in your best interest to do so.

I just think its in bad taste to ask someone why they believe in God. Its like asking someone how much they make.

What do ya know. Another God thread where atheists make fun of religious people!

Fucking lowlifes.

What do ya know. Another post from PSU complaining about atheists.

Business as usual.

Of course I'm complaining about them (you).

Whenever someone posts why they believe in God, you have 3 warrior atheists jumping out of the woodwork and making fun of them.

You're an atheist? Thats all good. Do you. Why do you guys feel the need to ridicule every religious person?
Except it's apparently not "all good" with you. Any time an atheist mentions something about the Pledge or "In God We Trust" on our money, for example, it's a problem for you.
Yep, because atheists make those things a big deal when they really arent.

Its not really a problem in my book, just slightly annoying that atheists have nothing better to worry about.
America is a secular nation. It should not have lines in the pledge devoted to something not everybody believes in. I pledge allegiance to my country, not a fairy tale.

You want to be religious? That's fine with me, because I actually care about freedom. But do not think for a second that means your religion is important enough to be part of the pledge of to be on the money. Why not pledge allegiance to Zeus? No religion should hold power like that. If you impose your religion on me and I take it lying down, where does it end? America is the land of the free, not the land of the oppressive majority. Atheists should not to have to worship something they don't believe in, and those of other religions should not be forced to worship a god they don't believe in.  Religion does not belong anywhere but in your homes, minds, and places of worship. It has absolutely no place in the miltary or government.

I'd be more inclined to agree with you if you didn't refer to my beliefs as fairy tales.

But sorry, this is a place of freedom. If voters want religion recognized, its going to be recognized.

You seem like the type of dude to complain about the word "Christmas" being used in a local mall.

Justification for beliefs is always nice.

I agree.

But why doesn't anyone but ME (the person with said beliefs) need justification?

Wouldn't you rather put such successes down to your own efficacy as a coach? You could be a very good coach, but the delegation of your potential to God could hurt your ability.

What about when there are injuries? Or bad events? Do you blame God as equally as you praise him for the good?

My successes as a coach are measured in wins and championships. A one minute prayer before a game or practice doesn't take away from my ability to coach.

I never blame God.

Not sure how many sports you've played/coached.

When I pray with my team (I coach right now), I pray for safety and guidance. Not wins.
Praying for those things does nothing though. You are just talking to your imaginary friend. Safety is in the hands of the people playing the sport, and the guidance is supposed to come from the coach.

Again, I disagree.

I believe praying does help.

I have heard other teams pray, and occasionally they do pray for a win.

Thats pretty outrageous then. I wouldn't do something like that.

Praying literally does nothing, you are sitting there talking to yourself.

Why does he need to pray with the students? Praying literally does nothing, you are sitting there talking to yourself.
Are you just baiting or does it honestly not occur to you that religious people think prayer works?
How can prayer work if people pray for opposing things?

If Team A prays to win, but Team B also prays to win, whose prayer does God respond to?

Not sure how many sports you've played/coached.

When I pray with my team (I coach right now), I pray for safety and guidance. Not wins.

>implying kids learning strong morality and to love one another isn't for the best.
>implying they need to be told lies and be made to believe in fairy tales is necessary to achieve that

Which is a lie and fairy tale?

Are you talking about Santa, Easter Bunny, ect? Will you really not have your child believe in santa?
Did you just compare god to santa
Nope. You guys did.
No, you're the one who brought Santa into the discussion.

It sounds a whole lot like you were implying kids should be taught about religion for the same reason we tell kids santa stories

Nope, must just be you misunderstanding it.

I'm not implying or saying that at all.
But hey, say what you want.
Did you not just imply that it would be better to teach children the teachings of the bible rather than subjects like science?
