Serious / Re: What media sources inform your opinions?
« on: August 30, 2016, 10:36:38 AM »
I don't follow any organized media sources, I find I hear all I need to from talk on campus and on imageboards. I might use published media to follow up on a topic and better inform myself, but I try to remain skeptical of everything I read there. I just can't find any that are genuinely trustworthy, to the extent that I've given up and just try to piece together a real narrative from all of the sources and resources I can.

I may watch the occasional Vice piece, but they're usually such garbage I have to shut it off halfway through.

Isn't communism a leftist ideology since you mentioned leftist. I'm not insanely knowledgable in this field. But yes, Communism was never appealing because once you get past the "everyone is equal" bit, you realize how flawed it is in so many aspects.

Also, so if the free market falls, what happens then? If communism happens like I read above, or something like it, then idk. I figured socialism would be the one to take hold. It seems capitalist socialism is working pretty well for some European states, but free market = capitalism.
Socialism does not exist in any tangible form on this planet. Which is probably a good thing.

Calling the Scandinavian countries "socialist" is either retarded or dishonest, depending on who is doing it.

Wouldn't socialism be the more logical outcome?
Why would public ownership of the means of production help? Liberal markets hitting a wall doesn't mean democratic bureaucracies will suddenly stop sucking dick.
But if Communism comes around, those democratic bureaucracies would cease to exist. At least that's how it's always happened because Communism is an anarchistic thing.
I'm not a critic of autocracy, but the autocracies established by revolutionary leftist politics always become abusive, and for good reason- a nontraditional autocracy is susceptible to deep existential schizophrenia. If it doesn't abandon the communist ideology to meet the needs of its people, it will implode.

Communism is a nonsensical fantasy that, if even possible, would create a dystopia more disgusting than any degenerate society capitalism could conceivably birth. Capitalism may reduce man to a hedonistic economic drone, but communism as described by its advocates would revert man to some kind of lowly animal.

Communism is antithetical to the project of humanity itself. Nuclear obliteration is preferable to spiritual death.

>has the solution to all the world's problems in one simple philosophy
>never taken seriously because it doesn't cater to base egoist desires whatsoever
>spend the rest of your days watching people waste their lives arguing over what's right and what's wrong
>watch the world shred itself to pieces over astronomically stupid shit as the solution lies right in front of their eyes
>become a resentful curmudgeon, thriving solely on his own insurmountable pessimism, distrusting everyone, loving no one
>die

It's time to put down that copy of The Leviathan.
Hobbes is kinda gay.

It's proven right in history, kiddo

communist apologists get out
the irony in this post is that Communism under Stalin was seen as being proven by history.

The whole progress meme and "muh long arc of history" is a Marxist development.

Serious / Why should I care if someone is a white supremacist
« on: August 27, 2016, 10:18:43 PM »
If I am white myself.

Spoiler
I am not a white supremacist myself, to such a degree that I've jumped off of the "west is best" bandwagon

While I'm unconvinced one way or another regarding the practical influence of ethnicity and genetics on intelligence (rote and emotional), and I have no strong feelings right now about the preservation of unique ethnic groups and populations, I don't really mind if someone thinks his tribe is better than the others. It just seems like a natural place to be, ideologically. That's not to say it's necessarily correct, but the common man isn't asked to be perfect. It's literally impossible to remove yourself from your ethnocultural background and worldview. Instead of lamenting it or becoming some kind of milquetoast nihilistic faggot about it, why not embrace it?

why does that make him wrong
I assume because his rhetoric allows these people to come out in public more so with all this
and we certainly can't have wrongthink becoming more popular! It undermines the narrative!

I don't think it's just a "fuck you pay me" thing.

I dunno about the current situation, but IIRC Sony has been bleeding money left and right for a few years now, except for the gaming division. Maybe they want to increase profit margins there in order to make up for money lost elsewhere?
