Serious / Re: What don't you like about Hilary?
« on: August 03, 2015, 09:03:48 PM »
I'll bet you money her stance on games has changed as they have become more poupalar,
And you think that's fucking acceptable? It was a bullshit nanny-state position that was never right. In fact, if she does pull that "my opinion has evolved" bullshit for this she's even fucking worse for it. If she's only changed her mind because her old stance is no longer kosher, (like she and the president have regarding gay marriage) that's disgusting. Then again, I doubt she really gave a fuck about it in the first place, she just bet on the wrong side.

It's not like she was a child when she pushed this fuckery, she was an adult and you can't just brush it off by claiming she's "matured" or some shit.

McDonalds isn't *good* but most of you fags are seriously exaggerating how bad it is. Unless McDonalds in your shitty countries are that bad, in which case you should adapt.

It has been shown that the hardcore criminals and gangbangers only make up a fraction of gun violence and homicides. It is your typical law abiding gun owner gone bad or behaving irresponsibly who is responsible for almost all of these instances.
Funnily enough what I've been reading (misplaced the links sadly) is that something like 80% of gun violence is committed by convicted criminals, and that police departments have seen great success by focusing on removing these handfuls of repeat offenders.

Anyway OT if somebody doesn't trust himself carrying that's a perfectly reasonable decision. I was at a gun show last weekend and it occured to me there that most gun owners really are mouth breathing idiots. I can tell you more about any given striker-fired pistol than half of it's owners, and I can't even possess one in the state of North Carolina. My breaking point was a guy upselling a Hi-Point carbine to some dumb doctor. Better somebody capable be unsure than somebody incapable be sure, I think.

Personally, though, I'm really looking forward to being able to CC ~3 years from now. I pass through some nasty parts of town regularly and I want to be able to defend myself if need be. Of course, that far down the line I may not even need to come back here much.

No thanks I don't have two hours to spare for him to talk about the POU or whatever of a kydex holster

Offtopic but did you see the one where he's on a bike talking about black people? I couldn't make it through the whole thing. Even when he's cringy he's boring.

Not to go all verbatim here but there's really no humane way to end the life of a complex organism.

I'm not saying stop eating meat. I'm not even suggesting kosher and halal are as ethical as other forms of slaughter. But let's not single out kosher and halal slaughter, while we pretend we have some kind of moral high ground just because our cows are stunned before the kill.

In my experience, urban cops are generally terrible, but small town cops and sheriff's deputies are usually pleasant people.

Doesn't excuse signing up to be a government enforcer, though.

Gaming / Re: Controversial opinions?
« on: July 26, 2015, 08:33:47 PM »
Here's one. The success of games like Limbo and Fez have damaged indie games, so many being released use the same 'retro' art style, same concept, same lack of features and interesting art style as one another-and it's annoying. Perhaps this isn't really an issue at all and this is down to the fact that most of the free games on xbl seem to be fucking indie  platformers-looking at you Volgarr, So Many Me and so many others.
this isn't controversial at all

Nobody but gaming "journalists" pretends to like this shit.

Gaming / Controversial opinions?

Modern Warfare 2's campaign, particularly the Ramirez missions set in the US, is one of the best shooter campaigns of all time.

Christianity isn't peaceful or safe either. The Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition was done in the name of it and when it comes down to your extremist a radical Muslim is no different than a Christian extremist.
Radical Christians protest soldiers' funerals.
If you're referring to WBC, they aren't actually Christians, they just label themselves as such. What they advocate is so far off what the Bible says.

4410
Yes, particularly between even generation numbers. It's gradual, though. You'll notice a lot more new between every other game than each new one.

Core mechanics stay largely the same, though, with really minor changes. Biggest change to that so far was the physical/special split in Gen 4.
