Serious / Re: Obama is only PRETENDING to be (retarded) a Christian
« on: September 24, 2015, 05:01:23 PM »
The other thing is that lets say he does have good ideas but the problem is that we don't no how good he be at them. Since he hasn't ran even a town we don't know how good he would be at running a country which is far larger and more complicated than a town.
Do you guys like actually think the President runs every facet of life? It's a much narrower role than "running a country"

this isn't a fascist state.

The notion that the US and her allies need to spread democracy and freedom is ridiculous.
We certainly don't need to.

But the world is objectively better off with us running shit.

I want to know who thinks the Pope has any good ideas for policy in the first place.

Bernie Sanders, apparently.
go figure

Hitler has a few successes which ended up getting overshadowed by the majoir negatives he ended up doing.

Hopefully this keeps that fucking Muslim from getting re elected.
Are you retarded or are you trying to make a joke?

OT: Why does it matter if he was a christian or not? It's not like America is a country based off Christianity.
Christian principles and concepts are very much behind the constitution and the bill of rights, as well as the democratic ideals America was founded on.

Yes, the founders weren't theocrats, and they most definitely advocated a secular state, but let's not forget where their ideas were coming from. Namely, Locke.

So no, it doesn't matter if a leader is a Christian, as long as he represents the values on which the country was founded. But we shouldn't pretend Christianity and western morality weren't a big part of developing those values, and I say this as a heathen.

we possibly already do lol

Well I meant in the sense that being an atheist is an official part of their person.

We can speculate on how genuine Sanders and Obama are about their beliefs but really, we don't know.
Oh yeah then, at least two decades.

After that, I expect we're going to see less and less religious influence on government, as more people shift toward irreligion or reduce its role in their daily lives.

Just gonna note something

Most US wars(not counting recent Iraq, Iran, terrorist wars) is where the US joined in, not really starting(except 1).
Two if you count the Revolutionary War.
I'm REALLY tired of this "everyone who fights an established regime is a terorist" meme

Of course there's no mention of who is actually doing this from the BBC.
I mean I think we all have a pretty good idea

When are we going to get an atheist president? Ball park?

20 years?
we possibly already do lol

Also have to wonder how seriously Bernie believes. He comes off more agnostic-ey than seriously jewish, to me.

Within 50 years for sure if the left keeps growing.

no political experience
See, other criticisms of Trump are legitimate, this is not.

The political class in this country, in fact worldwide, is corrupt and bloated. The fact that someone has had a real career, rather then spending their whole lives pursuing greater power, isn't a bad fucking thing.

He uses the constitution in the same way he uses the bible. That is, he likes to refer to it a lot but apparently never actually sat down to read it.
You could say the same about pretty much any politician on either side of the isle tbh.

Maybe excluding the Pauls.

The problem with the Republicans right now is they can't say anything without sounding out of touch and racist, and it only serves to make the Democrats look like the cogent party.

Yet a lot of Republican fundamentals are about as un-racist as you can get.
What the Republicans really need are younger, more diverse candidates.

I'm amazed Republicans fumble so hard with the latino demographic. Latinos, in my experience, are a fairly socially conservative, hard-work-and-family-values group of people. The republicans could have them in the fucking bag if they weren't quietly trying to cater to the "muh shrinking white population" crowd, and in doing so hand over a massive chunk of the vote to their opposition.

Right wing couldn't be riding Reagan's dick harder. He did some things right, yeah, but they treat him like a founding father. It's ridiculous.
agreed.

Of course I'm still not sure if I'm right wing or not.

Best: JFK/Johnson. I say Johnson because his political maneuvering to carry on JFK's policies was an insanely hard feat. So I throw them hand in hand. Naturally his Vietnam shit was bad.

Worst: Andrew Johnson. The man basically brought on a hundred more years of oppression by duh white man. Anyone who says Bush doesn't know their history.

Worst Prime Minister: Margaret Thatcher to my knowledge.

Best Presidents: Thomas Jefferson, JFK

Worst: Grant (good man, great general, shit politician), Wilson, LBJ (I'm semi-distantly related to him IIRC).

Best PM: Based Maggie.

Worst: Dunno enough to really say. Blair sounds pretty shit but he's not so bad as far as Labour politicians go. Doesn't sound like people are happy with Cameron, but then like 70% of Brits are retarded socialist types so who fucking knows really.

There's a whole lot to do in TPP. It's the game's strength. I myself have put in over 120 hours and I'm only 70% done. And I'm a Metal Gear veteran.

If you want something satisfying to sink hours of time into, MGSV's your best bet.

Have you played the other games?
like I said, some of Sons of Liberty years ago

Is there a way to prevent this without forcing set price ceilings?

My exams end December 9th and I'll have a whole month to fuck off at home.

I'm too broke to buy a next gen console any time soon and my next big monetary windfall is probably all going to finish the AR I'm building.

Will it be worth?

I haven't ever finished a Metal Gear game before, I played like a third of SOL when I was like 10.

Serious / Russians are going hot in Syria
« on: September 23, 2015, 12:00:27 PM »
Watch the video. It shows FSA islamists firing rockets at a Russian airbase.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/23/middleeast/syria-russia-military-buildup/index.html

Is this part 3 of the "Russia invades Islamic country" trilogy? Will Russia get the girl, finally, in this one, or will they run back home after sending in an undefended armored column and watching it get blown to bits again?

God I hope ivan can afford some go-pros.
