On a related note, don't try the dollar mini-quesadillas at Taco Bell. Those things gave me horrible, stomach churning diarrhea, twice.

Haven't since I was a kid. Hours and hours of boredom followed by thirty seconds of pure adrenaline, followed by quality time elbow deep in entrails.
I just don't have the time away from work or really the passion to sit in a tree stand four days straight doing nothing but waiting these days.

« on: October 24, 2016, 05:17:55 PM »
Is there a point to Russia sending election monitors?
US media and politicians have a history of criticizing the legitimacy of Russian elections and accusing their state of voter fraud.

Russia is capitalizing on the rising distrust in America's democratic institutions. They're doing this as a way of saying, "Look! You Americans accuse us of corruption, but it seems that your political class is crooked itself."
Pretty decent bantz IMO.

Makes sense though they'd ask people they know will say no, and then turn around and go "Look their elections are rigged!"
Maybe they know these people will say "no" because there's something fucky about the elections.

If you believe in the democratic process and free and open elections, you have no business getting upset when someone asks to observe.
It's Russia. You know damn well they were going to get denied and only push their rhetoric more. They're doing the EXACT same thing with Finland, along with questioning their independence in the first place. Stop taking Russia's word at face value.
I'm smart enough never to take Russians at their word, but I'm also smart enough not to put trust in the authority figures in my own country. The Russians may not be the good guys here, but that doesn't make us the good guys, either.

US doesn't like other nations meddling in their elections (and rightly so. No country should dictate another's elections).
Then what right have you to get so fucking butthurt about Russia's elections?
You can be upset they're rigged (evidence of literal box stuffing), but don't actually try to meddle in it on a governmental level. I'm but a citizen.
That's not what they're doing, though, is it? This reads like they just want to observe.

Although I guess they'd expect to be denied. This is probably more of a symbolic gesture than anything else.

Serious / Re: A rebuttal of a defense of Clinton's email scandal
« on: October 24, 2016, 03:20:12 PM »
That's because Nato/EU is provoking Russia. Trump wants to ease tensions with Russia. He basically wants to avoid WWIII. Obama and Hillary are pushing for war with Russia.
Yeah, Ukraine wanting to be apart of NATO after the history of corruption, and thus Russia annexed Crimea was all because of the EU/Nato. All these cyber attacks too, along with the pushing around of Finland.

Obama/Hillary won't start WW3, and whoever says that is retarded. Standing up to a nation who's increasingly militaristic =/= invading their homeland. Russia does what it does because it has yet to face any firm opposition, because the West has grown weak.

Edit: I can concede that the NATO push has probably been too much, as well as the West not welcoming in Russia with them after the fall of the USSR, but I still think if a country willingly WANTS to join, it shouldn't be threatened otherwise. If it is being pressured though by NATO people, then yes, that's an issue.
You realize that, at this point, NATO exists solely to ensure that the USA has total control over world politics and hostile or non-aligned states are made unable to defend themselves, right?
