There really needs to be more thorough screenings to keep these psychos out of the police.

Serious / Re: I don't understand why people were mad at Snowden.
« on: October 13, 2015, 12:11:27 PM »
Everyone was perfectly willing to sacrifice their privacy to massive conglomerate corporations so they could get access to Google and Facebook for free, but as soon as the NSA was 'revealed' to be collecting metadata (which requires a legal warrant to investigate, and really has no bearing on your personal privacy) it was immediately painted as this huge comic book tier government conspiracy.
...you don't see the difference between being able to choose what information you publish online, and the information the government gathers on you without your consent?
Information being what exactly?

I feel like I need to emphasize this again, since you guys really don't understand the concept of Metadata.

Think of it as a catalogue. A descriptive list of what kind of data is being recorded. The NSA have absolutely no legal basis to investigate this data without a probable cause and a warrant.

Whilst I agree that the NSA has been getting a bit too big for its britches, this narrative that they were the American iteration of Big Brother is just patently false.
And you think because they don't have a legal basis they don't do it anyway?

Government institutions at this level do not follow their own rules, because they have nobody to keep them in check. There is no higher authority dictating to a state what it can and cannot do.

The mere existence of this data in a recorded form is a guarantee that it will be investigated, legally or otherwise.

He is a traitor. Dude exposes all this info, acts like he's doing the right thing, but then leaves the country. He knew he was wrong and that's why he ran like a little bitch.
See, the thing that makes it most obvious that PSU and Max are the same person is the appeal to law.

When somebody does something illegally anti-gay, for example, Max says something like "It's the law".

When someone does something illegal that PSU doesn't like, he always backs up the government.

But when something they support is illegal or restricted by law, they express disgust or outrage.

OT: don't trust your government, ever.

muh national security muh laws muh traitor muh put american lives at risk

Domestic mass surveillance is a violation of everything that once made this country and its culture great. I don't give a fuck if the feds save Merkel's phone sex transcripts so long as they keep their eyes and guns pointed outward where they belong.

Basically what everyone needs to know is Sunnis are assholes and ruins everything.

If you got rid of Sunnis you'd fix like 95% of what's wrong with Islam.

]People did that. Not Islam. In fact, Islam had and has very little to do with science.

As for the poverty bullshit, explain to me why rich Saudis are the ones funding the terrorism?
Bad choice of words. What I meant was people of Islamic faith were the ones making advancements in science and medicine and the hub of it all what an Islamic city. It's just odd how it went entirely backwards.
Uncovering knowledge from looted Greek and Roman documents is not making advancements.

If you're going to seriously say that the Islamic Golden Age civilization did nothing beyond preserving Greco-Roman texts for the world then you need to pick up a history book
I didn't mean to say they preserved the texts so much as they mostly just took credit for what was in them :^)

And calling it an "Islamic" golden age is misleading as fuck. Islam had little to do with any actual discoveries made.

Last I checked, the middle east was doing its own thing as Europe was falling into darkness. The Europeans discovered that shit way later, and I don't think the Roman's did EVERYTHING, despite how much I love them.

Funny that you yell Yay! Capitalism! And act like the USA led the charge, when the article named China as responsible for 3/4 of the success.

Isn't China kinda sorta a Communist Country?
China is a single-party authoritarian oligarchist state-thing.

China's recent success can be attributed largely to its shift away from Communism in the 80s.

You can always make a moral argument for socialism.

You'd be retarded though because socialism requires the use of coercion.

I guess by your line of reasoning it would be 'Christianophobic' to disagree with sects of Christianity. Get fucked kid.
Disagreeing with a religion is fine. Asserting that being a Muslim means you're dangerous isn't.
Don't think anyone here is making that assertion.

Anti Islamism being a bad thing...how?
Because the vast majority of muslims are no different than your harmless Christian grandma.
ben affleck pls go
lol you're buying into this "Islamic infiltrators" myth. Only a fraction of a percentage of practicing Muslims are extremists, yet that's all anyone sees.
If you don't see demanding that women wear a veil as a form of extremism, you're part of the problem.

Growing up, one of my best friend's older sisters got shipped back to Pakistan in an arranged marriage.

These practices are barbaric.
If women in America are wearing veils, that's their own choice. In the Middle East, it's far more barbaric since they can get killed for not following the doctrine.
You don't think honor killings happen in the west? Lol

I don't doubt that he had other researchers on it, and his explanation for why their names aren't on it makes sense; but I find it hard to take the book as an unbiased source if I can't refer to the credibility of the work. Until such a time I can learn more about the conditions surrounding the book/read the book itself to see if there's a clear and present bias, no comment.
nigga it's glenn fucking beck

why are you even thinking of taking as an unbiased source

I can't understand non-practicioners who rush to the defense of such a backwards religion, especially agnostics.

Don't bother with the sequel, though, there's only like 3 hours of content.

I'd recommend you look into CZs and the Smith And Wesson M&P line. Do some research and find out what you want from the gun first- Striker fired, hammer fired, polymer or metal framed, safety/no safety etc.

« on: October 10, 2015, 05:12:13 PM »
Why do you need a permit to concealed carry a gun? If it's concealed, nobody knows you have it, anyway.
Because it's a gun, genius.
But why is there a difference between concealed carry and open carry? If you're allowed to carry a gun, it shouldn't matter if it's open or concealed.
Concealed carry is superior in every way. It's quiet and offers the carrier the element of surprise against an assailant. In an area with open carry, violence is a risk. You could try to rob a convenience store, but you never know who could be in there.

Pistol open carry scares (ignorant) people, draws attention, and does little to prevent violence. Just take out the guy with the gun first from behind, then do what you want. Plus it makes you look like a sperg.
