On the upside, if Hillary gets in, we won't have another Democrat president for at least 8 years after she leaves office. It'll be great.

Recommend me games for a medium tier laptop
Define medium tier.

My laptop is from 2015, isn't gaming-oriented at all but it can run Skyrim at okay settings.

What year is your laptop from?

I'd recommend Morrowind, Fallout 1&2, Battlefront 2, Republic Commando for stuff any laptop from the last 5~ years will run fine. Should be able to handle Oblivion and New Vegas decent, too, depending.

It's even expected that for the first time in any country in recent history, there are going to be less traffic fatalities than deaths by guns in the US in 2016.
That's a shame. I don't know if it still holds up, but wasn't there more mass shootings than days in the US in 2015?
Only because of the bullshit definition in place. Motive isn't taken into account, only number killed or injured.

Western European cultures have developed a fairly unique trait- self-criticism. We question the actions and offenses of our own peoples. This is not something you really see elsewhere.

On the upside, it is why we are the most morally upright of cultures. On the downside, it can lead to weakness at times.

I kinda think Poe would have been a cooler main character focus than Finn
I liked Poe but I think he's too good to be the protagonist

Finn's got that Luke thing going on where he's just a dumb kid who doesn't know anything and so things are explained to us through him.

Plus Finn's semi-autistic behavior is funny.

I could not bring myself to hate a film where it was so clear that everyone involved in the production was having a great time. That had to be the happiest vibe I've ever gotten from a big budget movie.

Also I was surprised how much I liked John Boyega's character. I expected just a token black character but he was actually my favorite by the end of the movie.

I still think this thing should never have been made and that Disney is going to suck the franchise completely dry and ruin the Star Wars name. But that didn't stop me from enjoying TFA.

Uhh, this wasn't without announcement. This was made very public in 2014, I remember shutting down Kinder over it back on b.net.
No, what is without notice is the collection. As in the owners of the guns will not be notified beforehand that their property will be seized.

What is news is that it is going into effect.

All of this was known almost two years ago when the law was made public. None of this should be a surprise to anyone.
Take it up with the author then nigga, chill.

Alerting a potentially dangerous individual
Come on now. 60% of invocations of this are going to be ex-girlfriends fucking with dudes.
Quote
that police officers are coming to take away their easy method of killing
Oh fuck off.
Quote
is also a pretty good idea. What the world needs is more dead people.
Let's say you're a gun owner. You're sitting at home minding your own business, when all of a sudden armed men in body armor burst into your home. Your first reaction is going to be to defend yourself. This happens all the time in no-knock raids that target the wrong house and it consistently gets innocent people killed. If the gun owner is lucky enough to survive but ends up capping a pig in defense of his home, his life is pretty much fucked up forever.
The same goes for people with malicious intent. Violent people tend not to react well to sudden shows of force.
With a warning or announcement of some kind, it can at least be made clear to the victim that he will not be harmed and cannot overcome the police coming to seize his property.

Quote
If we drop the sensationalism and start being realistic about this we can see that the vast majority of law abiding gun owning citizens will not be affected by this due to the fact that warrants are not issued unless there is actual evidence to back up claims made.
But that's fucking bullshit and you know it. This legislation, in fact, specifically targets law-abiding people. "Evidence" is relative in the courts, especially in a state like California where almost the entire government is heavily biased against the second amendment. I wouldn't be surprised to see an argument over text message or a person defending their self physically from a significant other used as evidence.
Quote
But hey, I'm running into freedumbs territory here so there really isn't any use in trying to argue. Have fun door.
Hurr durr if I call the opposition dumb it makes me look right. Fuck off. This is a dumb fucking policy and it's more than likely going to get innocent people on both sides of the blue line killed. It will undoubtedly result in the violation of the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.

But hey, as long as it means less people owning things I don't like, it's all cool, right?

Thanks Obama

For fuck sake why we still have loopholes on acquiring guns baffles me.
there are no loopholes

i wish you idiots would stop eating that shit

private sales are not a fucking loophole, they were protected during the construction of the brady bill as a way to get the bill passed

daily reminder that democrats are fucking cockroaches and cannot be trusted.

with democrats, today's compromise is tomorrow's loophole.

don't give them one fucking inch of ground.

The President doesn't have much power to expand gun control short of fucking with imports and adding one or two pages to the 4473. I'm not expecting much. There's very little Obama can do here without getting blown the fuck out by the Supreme Court.

I mean a rational, maybe even empirical, reason.
It's really impossible to find God if you're still clinging to the cult of reason.
Anybody who spouts shit about probability and intelligent design is full of shit. God is above our reason.
That's a bullshit excuse.

If God is above mortal reason, you should disassociate yourself from any organised religious group, completely renege on any conceptions you have of God and anything you believe he may want you to do and ultimately recognise that it has no impact whatsoever on your life because something that cannot ever be understood has precisely zero epistemic value.

This whole "God is above reason" horseshit is a pitiful attempt at any kind of philosophy. If it cannot be understood rationally, it has no empirical consequences, if it has no empirical consequences then it's utterly irrelevant and any conception we have of it ought to be tossed out.
Here you go again, on and on about empiricism. All this is is a new god to appeal to. Perhaps one you don't believe has magical powers, but a god nonetheless.

The nation-state is an awful idea if you're talking about a given territory with less than like 70% ethnic homogeneity.

Diverse states must be united around universalizing ideals or religions.

Serious / Enoch Powell
« on: January 01, 2016, 03:19:40 PM »
After a riot in Bristol in 1980, Powell asserted that the media were ignoring similar events in south London and Birmingham, and claimed: "Far less than the foreseeable New Commonwealth and Pakistan ethnic proportion would be sufficient to constitute a dominant political force in the United Kingdom able to extract from a government and the main parties terms calculated to render its influence still more impregnable. Far less than this proportion would provide the bases and citadels for urban terrorism, which would in turn reinforce the overt political leverage of simple numbers". He attacked "the false nostrums and promises of those who apparently monopolise the channels of communication. Who then is likely to listen, let alone to respond, to the proof that nothing short of major movements of population can shift the lines along which we are being carried towards disaster?"[49]
