Conjures up in my head dozens of scenarios in which it could get people killed.
You want your firearm as mechanically simple as possible. Extra parts cost lives.

Maybe I'm just ignorant on the problem here but I'm not really seeing the point in changing it. Like, "Man" refers to humanity as a whole, so don't titles like "Seaman" and "Airman" just assume a gender-neutral role? I feel like it's an over-analysis of the term.
Bro come on though my feelings like really dude it's the current year

I think the constitution should be updated every once in a while. A lot of things just don't apply and are outdated since the 18th century
Not a single thing in the constitution is outdated. Rights do not get old and die. Fuck off with that shit.
OT: I don't think I'd mind reinforcing some parts of the constitution, or expanding protection to other rights. That said, the idea of "updating" the constitution is worrisome. It could , potentially, lead to normalization of constitutional revision, which would be an absolute nightmare scenario.
So there was nothing wrong with the 3/5ths compromise in the Constitution?
Following the Civil War and the abolition of slavery by the Thirteenth Amendment (1865), the three-fifths clause was nullified, as all people were now free. Section 2 of the Fourteenth Amendment (1868) later superseded Article 1, Section 2, Clause 3. It provides that "representatives shall be apportioned ... counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed." It was fixed. Fucked up shit has gotten in from time to time, and it is eventually removed. Rights do not go away. You can recognize more rights that you missed before, or decide not to recognize those you have before, but rights don't expire.

We should get rid of the second amendment. It's obsolete, anyway
Agreed.
Maybe in a few decades. 2/3rds of Congress needs to approve and then 38 states need to ratify such a change. Not gonna happen yet.
Won't happen that way anyway. Confiscation and scary-ergonomic-feature bans may come along, and we may go all the way down to just bolt-guns, but that is as far as it will go. America, particularly rural America, has a longstanding tradition of hunting and outdoorsmanship. You can take their black weapons, but you'll never be able to get rid of hunting rifles. It is too great a cultural institution here in the South. You wouldn't know it based on American media you consume, because it all comes from the densely populated, politically-overpowered City States, but guns in a hunting capacity are a significant part of our culture. Excluding transplants from elsewhere, I don't know a family in my county that doesn't have an old .22lr or 30-30 stashed somewhere. The Second Amendment might get warped only to protect these weapons, but I assure you it will never disappear completely.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/31/world/europe/belgium-brussels-police-orgy.html?_r=0PARIS — In the six weeks since the Paris terrorist attacks, law enforcement agencies in Brussels, where most of the attackers lived or had ties, have been denounced as slow, unresponsive, disorganized and even incompetent.
To this list of woes, another was added Wednesday: Officials are investigating accounts of an alcohol-fueled “orgy” at a police station one night last month while Brussels, the Belgian capital, was nearly shut down over fears of a copycat terrorist attack.
At the time, soldiers had been sent to Brussels to help patrol the city, which was paralyzed with fear. Schools, government offices, markets and the public transit network were all closed.
According to an article in La Dernière Heure, a local newspaper, the orgy occurred sometime between Nov. 21 — when the federal government’s crisis center raised the alert level for the Brussels region to 4, the highest — and Nov. 26, when the alert level was reduced to 3.
About 20 soldiers from a light infantry unit known as the Bataillon de Chasseurs Ardennais were bivouacked at a police station in Ganshoren, a neighborhood north of Molenbeek. According to the newspaper, after the police station closed for the night at 10 p.m., two policewomen were invited upstairs to the floor where the soldiers were sleeping and had sex with eight of them.
A spokeswoman for the Brussels-West police agency, one of six police departments that patrol the city, confirmed on Wednesday that it had begun an internal investigation after the article was published Tuesday.
The police agency is responsible for Molenbeek, the working-class neighborhood in Brussels that was home to several of the men involved in the Paris attacks, which killed 130 people.

So what role does the Hawkeye fill? I know very little about military aviation.
Is this a weather plane? That big dish is some kind of radar device, right?

Going back to school to start the spring semester Sunday. Have a car on campus now, so I'll be able to attend the Orthodox church in that area now. Looking forward to learning more about the Orthodox faith, and possibly moving forward to catechumen down the line. I'm also in a relationship in everything but name at this point, excited to get back to campus so we can spend time together.
My grandmother has had deteriorating health for about a year now and it looks like it won't be long before she passes. This is actually going to be a huge relief, because her health and well-being have been a constant drain on my mother and it is very upsetting to observe. She's long past her time, and at this point I think if she were fully coherent, she'd be saying the same thing.
The next two semesters are going to be a sort of testing grounds to see if pursuing theatre is still right for me. I'm going to look into Arts Admin in the fall semester, but if I'm not impressed I may pursue education, communication, or some other path instead.

Conservatism is now a big youth counter-culture.
Are you serious?
Yes.
When secularism, PC culture and protectionist welfare politics became the mainstream, the contrarians of the world reacted accordingly.
t. young person
Except every single respectable poll disagrees with you. As it stands, if 18-25 year olds vote at 50% Sanders wins in a landslide not seen in history
Hence why I said counter culture. It's not the mainstream, it's a rejection of the mainstream. And as we've seen in the past, the counter-culture has a habit of overtaking the mainstream. Hardcore libertarians are the new punks.

It's completely possible. The farther left America goes in this SJW "feel good" movement, the more the right and silent majority get more desperate for change. The longer the left has control, the farther right the candidate goes.
Trump is balance. He holds moderate ideals, while also having some far right notions. If Hilary wins, the next big candidate will probably be a full blooded fascist.
Except that the Republican and Tea Party are just about at retirement age. We're about 10 years from a leftist society
LMAO keep dreaming The regressive left are already forcing a ton of people to the right, and what's left of the "progressive" left are setting themselves up for disappointment with Clinton and Sanders. We're about 10 years from a huge rejection of the Boomer and Gen X status quo. I have no idea where exactly it's going, but "leftist" in the current sense is not it. Conservatism is now a big youth counter-culture. People like Milo Yiannopoulos represent a real trend. I don't know if this will take the political lead, but the influence is growing.

You treat Rule 1 like New York treats the Second Amendment
You take that back. I am a staunch anti fat chick coalition supporter.
This is equivalent to Berniefags saying he's pro-gun because he doesn't want to ban hunting rifles

People in government, and here, seem to view it as an absolute rule that must be followed by the book Because it is. This is the point. The constitution was designed to restrain democracy, a system many of the founding fathers were (rightly) skeptical of.ans the US government will not recognize those rights anymore. This is an important thing to note.
I think she simply meant that the Constitution isn't infallible (which is true), yet people still hold it to a dogmatic standard. Yeah, the Constitution is what constitutes America--but what constitutes America may not constitute a "perfect union".
I don't think anyone would dispute that.
