Only 2004-2007.

The rest of it I was too young to remember, and everything after 2007 sucked.

White actors bring in bigger audiences than black actors, with a few notable exceptions like Sam Jackson. It's not Hollywood being racist, but the market.

I don't get why you feel the need to point this out when it is true of every major politician.
Every major politician plays into your fear and anger and lusts only for power?

No.
Not always fear and anger, but they all play into your baser emotions. Jealousy, contempt, greed, self-righteousness. People generally vote for their interests, not who is really right. Nobody ever has, because nobody is right. We just convince ourselves that the things we want are right.

Also if you look at Trump's life and his personal behavior it becomes clear that he isn't in it for power, he's in it for his ego. Trump is the greatest egoist of our day. He lives in his ego, he is fueled by it.
So everybody wants power except for Trump. Makes sense.

Having power is what boosts his ego. He wants power.
One way to look at it. The status of being a president would be pretty fulfilling for a guy like Trump.

Trump, Farage and Timo Soini are good populists.
These people couldn't care less about people.

Well, trump cares about american people andfarage cares about britain for british people.

So it kind of counts.
No, they don't. They tell you what you want to hear so you think they care. They're using you to get power. They play into your fear and anger.

I suppose I'm sympathetic to the establishment on most individual issues sans arms and substance control, but in a general sense I am critical of it.

Then again I hate most ideas "the people" back, as well.

I think I just kinda hate everything that isn't guns or ancient history or Jesus.

I still stand firm on my point on Idris Elba in Beasts Of No Nation, but it probably has more to do with the fact that it was a Netflix film and The Academy is almost universally known for being reticent about awarding new media platforms. The same shit happened to Andy Serkis' performance in LoTR. They didn't consider CGI acting to be legitimate performances. Bullshit reasoning sure, but it had absolutely fuck all to do with race.
I wouldn't call them illegitimate, but CGI acting is not the same as traditional acting. They shouldn't go under the same category.

The dem candidates are supported by black supremacy groups. Don't see why whites would vote democrat.
Probably because Republicans only give a shit about people who make astronomically higher amounts of money than everyone else

And democrats don't care about anything except convincing inner city morons to vote for them.
one of these things is worse than the other
i dunno man I think using tax dollars to buy votes and riding on racial tension is pretty bad

Lmao
They don't preach racial supremacy, but to suggest they're not on the same level as white nationalist groups is just bullshit.

That said, yeah, white nationalism is a lot scarier to Americans than most other variations.

Serious / Re: The Above Average Effect
« on: January 20, 2016, 05:07:31 PM »
And the majority of people are average. That's why it's called an average.
No. An average, or a mean, measures the central tendency of a group of numbers; this does not imply that most people are in the center, it implied that the mean of the sample is concentrated there. How "smart" varies greatly from person to person, there isn't a clearly definitive pattern. There are a lot of outliers, meaning that an average is pretty useless for guessing the intelligence of a random person plucked off of the street.
I'm using average as a synonym for usual. Usual=most common

Spoiler
If you look at a graph like this 68% of people have around average intelligence. That's a majority of people.
What's the population? All humans? Humans 18-24? Men 18-24? Americans 48-60? You literally have zero basis for assuming the intelligence of a community based on an unmarked bell-curve that has every possibility of being made for a different demographic.

You're assuming that everyone here also falls in a bell-curve pattern, and you know what they say when you assume: you make an "ass" out of "u" and "me".
Is there anyone here that you can honestly say has displayed that they are of above average intelligence.
I mean... I could post my wicked awesome asvab scores that landed me in like... the upper 10% of those tested.
Yeah but that's the asvab. You have to be a drooling retard or future marine to end up in anything less than the top 10%

This is not a matter of international law, it's purely domestic US law. As far as I'm aware, wearing these things is perfectly fine. If they were considered a terrorist organization, providing training, advice, service, personnel or any other sort of material support to them would be against the law. Not entirely sure what the units or this initiative are, but sounds like this could be considered material support if their profit goes directly to the organization. "Every purchase supports the Restore Nineveh Now initiative to build and train the Nineveh Plain Protection Units."
Essentially the NPU is one of a handful of militias in the region working to protect Assyrian communities from outside attackers and ensure some level of autonomy for the Assyrian people, who have been oppressed by pretty much every other group in the area other than Yazidis. They are distinct from others in that they are entirely independent and are backed by the American Mesopotamian organization, as opposed to groups like Dwekh Nawsha who are trained and organized under the Kurdish Peshmerga. I'm sympathetic to NPU because they're pretty much the only 100% good faction in the conflict.

2455
18 U.S. Code § 2381
"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

As long as proceeds didn't go towards them, you could wear an ISIL shirt around town without legal problems if you wanted. At least, as far as I'm seeing.
In this instance I would be directly funding the NPU, but donated proceeds aren't supposed to go to weapon purchases. The real question here is would I be guilty of adhering to "their enemies" if my only contribution occurred before the two came into conflict?

2456
If something like that were to happen, could this come back and bite me in the ass?
Long story short, no.

But really, if you're gonna have a patch with arabic on it that ain't this...
Spoiler
you should be more concerned about radial evangelicals than FBI agents.
Which is funny as fuck considering these guys are mostly Christians.

2457
http://www.restoreninevehnow.org/?p=517

Been considering getting one of these patches to wear on my backpack or a jacket to show support for the Assyrians and maybe raise awareness for one or two people.

NPU is not considered a terrorist organization by the United States, so I don't see why this would be illegal now, but they are a militia standing up to wahhabists, which means they potentially could end up on the wrong side of the US/Saudi-Iran cold war. If something like that were to happen, could this come back and bite me in the ass?

Anyway, the notion that all men are created equal is a myth institutionally propagated in order to legitimize democracy and egalitarian thinking. All people are not the same, there will always be those who can rise above. Those who refuse to recognize this truth are simply terrified of a meritocratic society because they lack confidence.
You've completely missed the point of this thread and clearly did not read the OP.
I haven't, and I did.
